My cat seems to have allergies to garlic. Do cats really have allergies?
Garlic is actually toxic to cats, so which is most likely why your cat is having bad reactions to it.
As for general allergies, they certainly can. I once had a cat with severe allergies. Cats can develop allergies to many things, although it is becoming increasingly common for a cat to develop allergies to corn and gluten often found in cheaper commercial food brands, and to household chemicals.
yes they can I lab recently had a staff infection and was placed on Amoxicyllan and steriods. She tolerated both fine but the steriod caused her to eat more.
What is pollen What can it cause?

Pollen can cause Allergies!
Why can't you taste anything with your nose plugged?
A plugged nose doesn't really affect taste. Your taste buds still work as well as they did before you plugged your nose. The sense of smell in intimately connected with that of taste. We're used to smelling so many things before we put them in our mouths to eat them that we do it unconsciously (connect smell and taste, that is). We grow up with both of them working together and never know the difference until we think about it or do some experiments. They are just working together like they were designed to do and we just roll with it. There is quite a bit of research that has been published on the subject. This writer recalls seeing some experiments where subjects swore that something tasted like a banana when it had no taste at all and only smelled like the longish yellow fruit we are so familiar with. Smell and taste are two independent senses, but we are so used to using them simultaneously that it takes practice to "split" the two off and evaluate the smell of something in a separate activity to an act of tasting that thing. (There are people who work in labs whose job it is to evaluate things only by smell and then separately only by taste. Takes some skillz to do that kind of work. And lots and lots of practice.)
I take these pill that are 24hr all day in door and outdoors you can get them at Walmart or cvs they are in a green lid. They help me a lot I had the same thing as you it really annoying to.
How many people die from cat allergies a year?
Cat allergies themselves do not directly cause deaths; however, severe allergic reactions can lead to complications such as asthma attacks, which can be life-threatening in some cases. Allergies to cats affect millions of people, but fatalities specifically attributed to cat allergies are extremely rare. Overall, while cat allergies can significantly impact quality of life and health, they do not typically result in a measurable number of deaths each year.
I recently also had a hoarse and raspy throat for over a week and did not have any cold or allergy symptoms. It was followed by over a week of dry cough and now I have a more productive cough which seems to be lessening. It has been nearly a month since this began. I have attributed my condition to the abuse my larynx received the two weeks prior to onset of hoarseness.
The abuse was: plane travel which involved 6 trips of more than 24 hours in planes, several events at which I talked a lot, and then minor surgery which involved intubation.
I have had all of this happen to me before when I was a teacher. I would get laryngitis occasionally in the fall shortly after school had started. It would take a couple of weeks to run its course, which involved the loss of voice, raspy voice, dry cough, wet cough. The only difference being that this time it has taken longer to run its course.
If you can recall recent occasion where you overused your larynx, it may be the cause of your scratchy, raspy voice.
What happens when you go in a clostriphobic place and you suffer from it?
clostrophopic people have a fear of small places. so when a clostrophobic person goes to a small room, they get fearful & anxious, they want to leave. heart races & breathing quickens & it gets ugly.

Name something you hate to find that a person you are interested in is allergic?
Peanuts. I love eating those peanut mixes and hate it when I can't eat them because of someone having allergies.
Are Italian Greyhounds good dogs to have if your child has asthma and allergies?
I have asthma and ive got a grayhound called sparcky!
It's not the fur, but the pet dander that causes the reaction to asthma and allergies sufferes. Italian Greyhounds are hyper and great runners, so they aren't the best pet for children. On the Canadian Shopping Channel there is an excellent brush with a Hepa Filter that you can constantly groom your dog with and it I've heard it works. There is also a special brush where the small vacuum is put into another room (so the pet is not frightened) and you run the brush down the dog (or cat) and it get's the dander and any loose fur out. It's quite the thing. Vacuuming, not allowing pets onto furniture or in bed with you is a must. It's a great investment to choose a good Hepa Filter for your home and try to keep the air as pure as possible.
Here are some breeds that you may try (be sure to tell the breeder your child has asthma and this is a test run and if it doesn't work you want to bring the pup back.)
Bichon Frise' are a funny, loving and sweet dog. They have thick curly hair and I own one and have Tootsie shaved like a sheep. She looks so cute. She doesn't shed and my brother who has allergies is just fine around her.
Miniature Schnauzers are another great dog, with short silky hair and they do not shed. They are mild-mannered and fairly good with children.
American Hairless Terrier
Kerry Blue
Go to: Google.com
Then ask Google this: Information on the Bichon Frise'.
Keep asking the question, but just change the dog breed.
I know this must be difficult for your son wanting a pup so badly, but give it a shot and if he can't tolerate the dog being in the home then take the pup back and I wouldn't try the other breeds because it's too heart-breaking for not only the family, but the pup.
If you can't give affection to the pup or think by keeping it outdoors or in a basement for part of the time, please don't get any of the above dogs. They are family dogs and love to be with family.
Good luck Marcy
Try Chinese Crested Hairless Variety. The hairless name is a misnomer as they have a little tuft of fur on their head, around anklets, tip of tail plume. But its such a small amount compared to fully coated dogs. They have awesome sweet personalities. I con-cur with Marcy, Italian Greyhounds are not a good breed for children. They have delicate bones that cannot stand up to the rough-housing of children.
Best wishes, Amy
I have both asthma and allergies myself and what the problem is, is the pet DANDER not the FUR. If you are looking for a great hypoallergenic dog, I highly recommend a Schnauzer or a poodle. For me, I'm allergic to cats so I just take medicine but it seems as though I'm not allergic to my cat anymore. Maybe it's just something your kid will outgrow.
Is your child old enough to walk someone else's dog? We can't have a dog but my daughters walk a neighbour's dog after school. They get the affection & exercise without worrying about fur. It's doing them a power of good.

If you are allergic to novocaine will you be allergic to lidocain?
Yes -- these two meds are very similar. It's not certain you'll react to both, but I think it highly likely. If you're using these for dental work, consider a general or "twilight" anesthesia not based on one of the 'caines.
Can people with corn allergies eat sugar?
yes- as long as it is pure sugar and contains no corn syrup, starch, citric acid, etc. I have had a corn allergy for over 15 years, and just to be safe I use honey and agave nectar to sweeten my food. If you're cooking for someone with a corn allegry, ALWAYS read the ingredient labels of food first: companies are not required to add a corn warning, so you need to really read labels carefully.
