Who makes baja ATV 4wheeler?

Baja does. Company is located in Arizona. ATV's are designed here and made in Asia. Another fine example of an American Company outsourcing jobs. Bottom line, it's not an American made product.

How do you adjust high idle on carburetor 1988 trx200sx ATV?

According to my service manual for a 1987 (same for 86 through 89)these carburetors have a fixed high speed jet. The idle is adjusted by one screw on the right side of the carb which sets the slide opening. Another adjustment is the air adjustment on the left side of the carb. The air must be set first by turning it in until the engine is about to die. Then back it out till the engine starts to run rough. Turn the screw back in to exactly the mid point between these two limits. Then adjust the right screw to the idle speed.

Both screws are accessible from the outside of the plastic side cover through the slots. It may take some looking and moving of some wiring to see them but they are there and accessible. Good luck.

Is a 4wd ATV safer than a 2wd ATV?

A 4x4 ATV can potentially be more dangerous due to the much increased weight if it lands on you. 4x4 atvs are typically narrower and taller than 2x4 so they can tip over a lot easier.

Is 370 hours a lot on a four wheeler?

Not if the atv was well maintained and ridden by a responsible rider. As long as the maintenance was done regularly, Atvs can last for a very long time. I have seen atv's with over 2000 hours riding around like new. Now some mud boggers can have an atv that needs to be rebuilt after 100 hours depending on what they were doing and if water gets in the engine. Find out how many miles are on it and if it was sunk in the mud. Dividing the miles by the number of hours can show you how hard the atv was ridden. 15000 miles divided by 370 is averaging 40 mph, ridden hard. 2000 divided by 370 is about 5 mph on average, ridden easy. If it was me i would look at the miles and condition. If it was on the 2000 mile side i would pick it up, given that it was well maintained.

What are the safety rules for driving an ATV?

  • Protect your skull by wearing a DOT-compliant helmet.
  • Protect your eyes and skin from branches and flying debris with goggles, long sleeves, long pants, over-the-ankle boots, and gloves.
  • Never ride on paved roads - except to cross, and only when done safely and where permitted by law - another vehicle could hit you. ATVs are designed to be operated off-highway and can be difficult to control on paved roads.
  • Never ride under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
  • Never carry or be a passenger on a single-rider ATV, and carry no more than one passenger on an ATV designed for two people.
  • Ride an ATV that's right for your age - children under 16 are twice as likely to be injured riding an adult ATV instead of a youth's.
  • Supervise riders younger than 16 - ATVs are not toys.
  • Ride only on designated trails and at a safe speed.
  • Consider taking a training course if you are new to ATV riding.

While there is no such thing as a bad safety rule when it comes to riding, above all else, you just need to apply your own common sense. I understand that nobody enjoys reading instructions or safety manuals, but there is a reason ATV's come with those manuals - so read them!
