I wouldn't expect an abuser to tell the truth. Abusers seem to live in an elaborate world of self-deception. There are reasons for gut feelings. Something said or an action taken has triggered something that you haven't fully figured out. You need to follow through with your feelings, good or bad, to find the answer.

I have only heard it called by the politically incorrect and derisive label of "Irish Twins". I heard this from an Italian-American from New York. I understand it to be a derogatory reference to perceived large family sizes among Irish-Americans. I believe there is long standing history of both animosity and intermarriage between Irish-Americans and Italian-Americans in the Northeast, so go figure. Yes it does. But you are not supposed to cut 5 inches and expect it to grow back in 2 days. You cut about 1-2 inches of it to chop of the split ends or unhealthy hairs giving it a new chance to regrow healthier hair. I guess it does grow a bit faster, but most people do it for the purpose of health. You grow healthier hair by trimming it a bit every month.
