What a nightmare... Not actually changing out the pollen filter but finding accurate information. The Chilton manual says to take off the driver side panels and does many posts on the net. A few also say to take off the passenger side panel and glove box. I can promise for a 1998 328i this is all you need to do and it's a 15 minute job. The pollen filter is located in the side of the heater box, behind the centre of the dash. You access it by removing the lower dash panel on the passenger side. Remove the plastic duct underneath the dash on the passenger side. You have to unclip this duct by pulling off a couple of plastic clips with pliers. When you've moved this duct, you'll see a sort of round handle (like an extension piece) connected to a plastic cover. Hint it is located near the engine firewall. You twist this counter-clockwise about 1/2 turn and this little access door comes off. Behind this is the pollen filter which slides out. If yours hasn't been changed in a while, pull out the shop vac as you will need it. Tons of debris comes out with the filter. Replace and reverse all the installation tips. Wow what a difference the improved air flow made!

Normally there is a diagram under the hood on the core support, meaning where the radiator is located. If not you can buy a haynes manual and it will be in it.

You'll need to take the car to a mechanic who will put the diagnostics computer on the car (about $50 around here) find out what is the malfunction .repair it and then the light will go out, or he'll reset it. HTH, Chuck

The starter but bolts must be reach first remove intake manifold. Drop shaft exhaust loosen transmission Braves and tilt down transmission slightly to access starter from back. Replace starter and return closures.

yes. If you're only swapping the engine they're usually all the same. Ask someone at an AutoZone or specialized auto parts store for more information on swapping engines. You'll need a manual. And there are a lot of sensors involved, so don't forget to put everything back on when you're done swapping! Specialized cars have engines that aren't interchangeable, but usually its not the engine that has a distinction between auto and manual, its what is connected to the engine such as the transmission and the intermediaries between the two.

On the driver's side under the car right where the drivers foot would be. There is an access panel with three screws (by the driver's side front wheel). Above this panel is your fuel filter which is silver in color and about a foot long, 4 inches in diameter. Fuel goes in one side and exits out the other. Fuel lines are rubber and simply slide onto nipples on either end of the filter.

Is Impossible to do it manual, if you want to save some money, change the motor oil by yourselves and then for $ 10 many places charge for reset the light, otherwise you need to buy the device that is connect on the right side of the engine with a round black gasket. do not try nothing with the switch because doesn't work

It's near the right rear wheel well, on the right front side of the gas tank. Remove the wheel for access to the filter.

disconnect your battery first!! jack your car up and support it correctly... remove the starter wire's but make sure you label where they go!! on some models you may have to remove the coolent expansion tank and the heater hoses to gain full access to the top pf the starter!! and i believe there are two mounting bolts that hold that sucker on, remove them and slide that puppy off, install in reverse!!!! AT

Yes, most BMWs have timing belts, but a lot of the newer, more powerful BMWs have chain driven overhead cams.

there are two cheap ways to clean the headlight covers. This shouldn't cost more than 4-5$

1. use rust buster, or any other rust cleaner

2. use Pam, or cooking oil

Sit in the drivers seat, close the door, and buckle your seatbelt. Insert your key into the ignition and turn it to the second position. Do not turn the car on. Hold down the odometer reset button. Watch the gear position display that is on the dash console. It will begin to display the various service indicator symbols. Press and release the button once to move to the next item in the display. When you see a message that you need to reset, press the odometer reset button AND hold it until it displays RESET. then release it and press it again AND hold it in until it flashes to all dash marks and then resets the mileage number to what it should be reset to. Then release the button and you can continue to scroll to the next item by pressing the button once and releasing it. This really works, and was the only thing i could find online that actually did work. I hope that this works for you.

Cars can use batteries from any of the major sellers...there is nothing particularly special about a BMW battery compared to a Sears one. In fact, I believe there are really only something like 3 major battery manufacturers in the world, and their products just carry different names for the retailers/marketers.

There may not be one. I think that car uses a GM transmission with a lifetime fill.

there is a replaceable light bulb you can replace to get light again to view the clock time. you need first remove the complete board computer from the dash, under the board computer, in the storage bin, feel up inside, you should feel a hole in which you shoulc be able to stick your finger up in the hole and pop the whole board computer out. once poped out the light bulbs are on top, just unscrew bulb, and remove and replace, and just pop board computer back in, good luck.

What about them? The spare should ether be a full size or temp. should be in the trunk on some models they dont use a spare and come equiped with run flat tires

As you failed to list which model 2000 BMW, I cannot provide an answer. BMW makes many vehicles including diesels. All I can tell you is to use exactly what the owner's manual states. if it states Premium, then use Premium. Using Regular can cause engine damage over time. If it says use Regular, then use Regular. The use of Premium is a waste of money and provides no benefit whatsoever. Of course it it is a Diesel, then use the correct Diesel.
