How do you change a block heater in a 1976 Buick LeSabre?
Unplug the power cable by pulling it straight out. Drain the coolant. There is a screw in the block heater. Loosen this screw, probably a Phillips. Put a drain pan under the heater and pull the heater out by hand. If the heater is stubborn. grasp it with pliers and pull hard. If there is collant in the block, it will probably shoot out, so wear glasses and watch out for coolant! Clean the hole with a rag or paper. Press the new heater into the hole by hand making sure the rubber gasket is seated. Tighten the screw in the heater and it will suck the heater into place. Plug in the new power chord that comes with the heater. Refill the radiator with coolant. Test the heater by plugging it into 110 ac. Reach behind the power cable and touch the block heater. It might make a humming sound and should be starting to get warm in a minute or so. Now you are ready for -40 degree temperatures. It takes the heater 3 hours to properly heat the engine block on a very cold day. Unplug the power cable by pulling it straight out. Drain the coolant. There is a screw in the block heater. Is there any way you can take the dash off of a 1995 Buick Lesabre by yourself?
It is very complicated and necessary to have a manual telling you how it's done. I would take it to an auto trim shop. First, you'll need to remove the wood trim from the dash. It is held in by a series of clips, so it's just a matter of carefully popping the trim out. Once the wood trim pieces are removed, next you'll remove the vents from the black trim of the dash. Turn them all the way to one side and pull as best as you can. They will pop out (although you might need a screwdriver to wedge in behind if they don't come right out). Removing the wood trim and vents will reveal approximately 10 (don't recall the exact #) torx head screws. Remove those, and then you can remove the black dash panel (you might need to shift the car into neutral to get the panel out).
Why will your 1990 Buick LeSabre not start unless you pull up on the gear shift?
it sounds like your neutral safety switch

How do you replace the fuel pump located on a 2000 Buick LeSabre?
You have to drop the gas tank. There are several parts in the way, like an exhaust hanger and such. Once you get all that crap out of the way, you have to take down the tank. After you have dropped the tank, unplug the fuel pump and pull it out.
Note: This is not as easy as it sounds; be careful with the tank and all of the O rings, you dont want to create a leak.
Why do you hear a knocking sound when you drive?
Not sure where or when you are hearing the noise but a check of the sub frame that hols the engine is a place to start. The sub frame is bolted to the frame near each front tire. The bolts go through the sub frame, rubber isolators, then into the main frame. Make sure that the rubber isolator and bolt have not pulled through sub frame. Also the other three things would be a broken strut, bad cv joint, or bad wheel bearing.
1993 buick lesabre how many miles per gallon?
My 92 gets about 22 MPG driving short distances and when I took it on a 3 hour trip I got 32.8 MPG
youll have to place a jack under the engine and then remove the mount
I have a 98 Buick lesabre limited and I changed the belt without jacking the motor or removing the motor mount. There is a slot about a 1/4" wide the belt slips through so you don't have to remove anything. After studying it for a little bit it is very easy!
Do not jack. The engine support bracket does not need to be removed. Only remove the lower bolt and spacer. (18 mm) regular socket will do the trick. One the bolt is removed, removed the spacer by wiggling it around. Place the belt on and then replace spacer and bolt.
I just did one this morning in less than 30 minutes.
First.. I drew a simple map of the belt before I began. Then I used a 15 mm on the tensioner, pushed it towards the firewall, slipped the belt off the alternator and gently released pressure off the tensioner.
NEXT.. There are two nuts on the MOTOR SIDE of the mount in front towards the radiator kind of but down in there by the pulleys. LOWER FRONT 18MM and UPPER FRONT 15MM. Remove both nuts.
Next remove both studs. THE VERY SAME TWO STUDS YOU JUST REMOVED THE TWO NUTS FROM. I used 2 tight fitting 6 point SOCKETS (I think 6 & 8mm) in place of the reverse Torx (star) sockets normally required for removal. BE SURE THEY WIGGLE ON TIGHT! Don't strip the edges or go buy the proper sockets. Mine were both barely snug and came right out with no Torx required.
Next there are two spacer tubes these same studs were floating through. If they have not already fell out a little persuasion should wiggle them out. Now there is room to slip the belt out and the new one in.
P.S. You may only need to pull one or the other and not both. I simply did both.
Also.. The lower stud only slid until contacting the passenger side frame. I remedied this by loosening the two big 18mm nuts pointing straight up at me on the center of the mount joint until they were just about out of threads. This barely lowered the engine enough for the stud to completely come out and the tube became loose on top of the crank pulley.
BE CAREFULL OF THE CRANK SENSOR BELOW THE LOWER SPACER! ITS RIGHT THERE!
Reverse order to reinstall. That's all
If check engine soon comes on it means you may have a computer sensor telling you something is wrong. You should get a code readout ASAP. Mine let me down and it was a mass air flow sensor the problem.

How do you program the remote contol key on a 2000 Buick LeSabre?
This is how it is performed on my 2000 Buick Regal LS
1. Sit in the driver's seat.
2. Close all vehicle doors.
3. Insert the key into the ignition and turn the key on, (DO NOT START) and then off.
4. Remove the key from the ignition.
5. Press and hold unlock on the door lock switch. DO NOT RELEASE UNTIL STATED
6. While holding the door lock switch in the unlock position, insert and remove the ignition key twice. Do not rotate the ignition lock cylinder.
7. Insert the ignition key a third time leaving the key in the ignition lock cylinder.
8. Release the door lock switch. You will hear three chimes. This chime feedback indicates that transmitter programming is active.
9. Press and hold the lock and unlock buttons at the same time on the keyless entry transmitter for 12 to 15 seconds. You will hear two chimes. This chime feedback indicates that the transmitter has been programmed successfully.
10. Repeat step 9 for the rest of the transmitters (for a total of 4 transmitters).
11. Exit this procedure by removing the ignition key from the ignition lock cylinder.
Answeryou will need the dealer tech 2 scan tool to do this AnswerAssuming you have "Pass key III", there is another way. The procedure that the manual recomends is for when the battery dies and your fob goes brain dead as a result. For lost fobs it's recommended that you get your car and fobs reprogramed so no one else can easily get at your car. The quick test to see if your fob needs to be resynchronized is to press the instant alarm (red horn symbol button). If that works and nothing else then resynchronize. Take your brain dead fob and press both the lock and unlock buttons simultaniously within range of the car. The manual says this should take about 8 seconds. Once the car has re-awakend your fob, the locks will cycle and what ever else your car has been programed to do when it locks and unlocks. What are car bushes or bushings?
Little rubber parts that help to cushion a car's suspension system, if they wear out you can hear a knocking noise when going over bumps.
