1990 Buick LeSabre when I am driving it cuts off and sometimes it'll crank back and sometimes it takes a long time I was told it was my coil pack?

My 90 lesabre did the same thing. When it cut off after driving I sprayed water on the crank sensor and it started right back up. A buick mechanic told me to do this and this is how I found out the crank sensor was bad!

Where is the fuel pressure regulator on a 1994 Buick Lesabre?

All Fuel Pressure Regulators are usually attached to the Fuel Rail. In any case, they have a return line to the fuel tank. On your engine you may have to remove the pretty "Plastic Cover" that covers the top of the engine to see the fuel rail and the pressure regulator. Look for a "tube" that has fuel injectors going from the bottom of it and into the top of the intake manifold. The fuel pressure regulator is a round looking device attached to the end of the fuel rail with a small fuel line coming out the botttom and a vacuum line attached to the top of it. At least in most cases this is what it will look like. Especially if it an OEM set-up. Aftermarket set-ups will differ. TommyTrouble

How do you replace wiper blades Buick lesabre?

Most or all years of Buick LaSabre have hook-end wiper arms. Be sure to get the correct replacement wipers and they usually will have step-by-step, illustrated instructions. Normally there's a little tab where the wiper blade is inserted in the the wiper arm hook. Press the tab and pull the wiper blade out of the hook. See video for Hook-End Arms below.

How do you replace the heater core on a 1985 Buick LeSabre Special Edition rear wheel drive with 8 cylinder?

I own a 1985 LeSabre 2 dr, and last winter the heater core went. Replacement is very easy when compared to other car makes.

The heater core is located under the hood on the passenger side. Make sure that the engine is cold before doing this.

1. Start by removing the heater inlet and outlet hoses. They are quite obvious, as they go directly into the firewall. Make sure to have a catch can or container to catch the coolant when it comes out.

2. Disconnect any other wires, hoses or mines running to the heater core case. This includes the blower motor resistor pack, which has a big plastic conncector attached to it.

3. Remove the cowl weather stripping and the leaf guard that is located just under the windshield. Also, remove the windshield washer supply hose if necessary.

4. Remove the twelve or so screws from the top of the heater case. Alos, at this time disconnect the A/C switching valve soelnoid on the back of the reciver-drier (Looks like a big verticle tank coming out of the heater core case, the solenoid connector just unhooks), only if the vehicle has A/C.

5. Lift off the top of the heater case. You do not have to remove the blower assembly. Alos, you will have to cut the seal around the base of the windshield that seals out water from the heater case.

6. Lift out the old heater core assembly. Install the new one, making sure that the protrusion on the bottom of the new heater core fits sngly into the molded part of the heater case.

7. Install top of heater case and seal the part of the case near the windshield with RTV or even black window caulk. Balance of installation is reverse of removal. Besure to refill cooling system with heater in the "HOT" position and make sure all the concections (ie, vacuum lines, windshield fittings and electrical connectors) are all secure.

How do you take the lower dash out of a 1998 Buick LeSabre to install a remote starter.?

This is actually the procedure for removing the lower dash panel from a 1997 Buick LeSabre, but I think they are very similar. You will need a 1/4" drive ratchet wrench with a metric socket set. It is helpful to move the front seats all the way back, and to put all your fasteners into a bowl or box so they don't get lost. Put them in an envelope and label them if you think you might not remember what they're for. # Remove the upper part of the dash. That procedure is explained in detail elsewhere, but briefly; very carefully pry off the wood grain panels and the four louvered vents (no threaded fasteners here; a wide-bladed paint scraper works well), then remove the (9) screws with an M7 socket (one behind each louver and five across the middle of the dash), then very carefully pry the upper dash panel off. If there seems to be too much resistance, look diligently for another screw. There are no screws on the thin part above the glove box, but be very gentle with it. Old plastic breaks easily.

# Remove the plastic covers mounted underneath the dash. There are bolts (M7) on the underside, and nuts (M7) against the firewall. The passenger side cover has a light and an air bag connector fastened to it, and the driver side has a light, a fuse box, and one other device that I didn't recognize). I removed the passenger side panel, but let the driver side panel hang.

# WORK SAFELY! Don't skip this! Either disconnect the battery if you haven't already, or disconnect the air bag electrical connectors to avoid accidental deployment. # Now, use an M10 socket to remove (3) bolts on the underside of the lower dash, and (1) bolt and (3) nuts on the top front of the lower dash panel. There are (2) bolts on the top of the air bag unit that you have to loosen (but not remove) in order to get the lower dash panel off. # Flip the panel upside down and set it on the floor. You will find wires to the glove box and to the ash tray that you have to disconnect in order to get the panel out of the car. To reinstall the dash, simply reverse the procedure.

What does it mean when the Check Engine Light stays on the entire time while driving a 1997 Buick LeSabre and hasn't gone off after getting an oil change?

It means the computer has detected a problem with the emissions system. The oil change had nothing to do with it. A loose gas cap can however cause this. Tighten the gas cap 3 clicks. You will need to have the computer scanned with an OBD2 scan tool, to retrieve the code. This code will tell you what part is being effected. Not what part is bad, but which one is being effected.

Is it normal for a new Trane home air handler transformer to hum and be very hot when the air handler is not running or did the repair man connect some wires improperly. The unit runs and cools great.?

http://www.heatersales.com/rental-inquires.html

Air handler

Heater Sales is providing Heater Leasing and Heater Rental Services. We also manufacture and sell electric heater and air handlers.
yes that is typical for a transformer to hum like that your unit might be to close to your return air and it could be loud due to maybe there is no flex duct work or maybe there is not a return air can that is insulated so many different variables hard to tell with out seeing the job and inspecting

Yes, the transformer will feel warm always whether the unit is operating or not, but the humming is not normal. You say the transformer is very hot, that is not normal either. If the unit is operating properly there most likely were no wiring mistakes but if there is any peripheral equipment added like an electronic air cleaner, humidifier, etc. The installer should have replaced the transformer with a larger one to compensate for the additional load on it. You may also want to verify that the primary voltage feeding it is correct.

Where is the crankshaft sensor on a 1998 buick lesabre?

The Crank sensor in my 91 LeSarre Limited is behind the Harmonic balancer pulley....there are fins on the back of the pulley that line up with the sensor.

Why would a car shake if the heat is on?

A good place to start is to check for leaks in the vacuum lines associated with the heater controls. Many of the controls are vacuum actuated & if there is a leak in a control or associated line it may cause a rough idle

How do you check the power steering fluid on a 1991 Buick LeSabre?

The reservoir is located on the passenger side of the engine near the serpentine belt.

Make sure the engine is off and the wheels are pointed straight ahead.

Unscrew the cap and wipe off the dipstick with a rag and reinsert than check the level again.

If required add fluid and recheck level.

Why would the engine on a 1988 Buick LeSabre have a miss and then after it warms up start stalling?

An engine is just like a human in many ways. In this example, the engine is missing and it could be many different things that cause this. Not unlike a human that is coughing, in which case, it could be many things that are causing the cough, all the way from an irritated throat to lung cancer. But, it's usually one of a few most common problems. For the I/C gas engine I would start simple and go from there. Things to ask yourself are: How many miles on the engine? How many miles on the spark plugs? How many miles on the spark plug wires? Are any of the spark plug wires touching the exhaust header? Etc.... etc... I would start by removing and inspecting the spark plugs and the spark plug wires and look for anything obvious. Is one spark plug "Wet" and all the others "Dry" (or drier). If one plug is wetter than the others it may be that that plug is misfiring. If that is the case it could be the plug wire or the coil. If there is alot of black smoke coming from the exhaust it may also indicate a leaking fuel injector, if there is no black smoke it may mean a fuel injector is not being energized due to wiring problems or computer problems. If the engine has very high mileage it may have a burned exhaust valve, especially if there is a leak in the exhaust header at that valve location. Just as an FYI, always make sure that the fuel filter has been replaced in the last 10-12 thousand miles. I hope this helps, if not let us know :-) TommyTrouble

How do you remove the stater on the 83 Buick la Sabre?

Disconnect batt. Disconnect wires from solenoid on top of starter (if not remote mounted) Disconnect batt cable starter, Remove bolts to block & Brace if it has. Be careful when you pull the last one, the starter weighs over 40#. Reverse to install. If you have a starter-mount solenoid, it may/may not be included with new starter. if not, reuse old (assuming is good) Swapping if need be pretty straight fwd using old one for reference. There may be a core exchange, if so you can return old starter for small refund. If you have trouble finding starter, follow pos. bat cable to the end. It's underneath trans/flywheel area.
