What would cause a 1994 Buick Skylark to shake when maintaining a speed of 55-70mph?

It could be the tires out of balance, the wheels need an alignment or the steering mechanism needs service. Can also be a bent wheel, but I would suspect it is an out of balance tire.

How do you replace the headlight bulb located on a Buick Skylark?

I own a 93 skylark and replacing the any of the bulbs in the front of the vehicle proved difficult due to the extended nose design. i found that when replacing the headlights using a pair of channel locks to gently grasp the back of the light fixture helped getting into the difficult work space, subseqently you have to turn the fixture 1\4 turn and pull straight back. Once the fixture is out simply pull the old light out by rocking the bulb from side to side to un seat it. Reverse the proceedure to get it back in. Blinker and side marker lights are also difficult to reach. If you are un successful approaching it from the top of the engine compartment ,turn the wheels one direction ( depending on which side of the car you are working on) , remove a few screws from the front of the wheel and gently peel back the wheel well just to gain slightly better access, butI warn you there is little room to work with tools under the hood of this particular model so be patient and dont drop anything in the engine. once you drop something you are going to have a difficult time finding anything again. Remember removing the wheel well may be a bit of a hassel at first but , it is better to take the long road to the top of the mountain and get there safely instead of rushing half way up only to fall back down.

Why Does My 1992 Buick Skylark 3.3L Overheat New Motor New Radiator New Thermostat new Hoses HELP?

if i have read this correct, your new motor in your 92 Buick skylark is over heating, ? you have replaced the thermostat, (as a new motor would have) & hoses & radiator.. well that's about it.

have you checked & replaced (if neccasary) your water pump? this is important as it pumpes the hot water from the engine, & into the radiator, where it is cooled.

also check your fan, is it an electric fan, or is it a viscous clutch fan, attached to the engine? if it is electric, it is easy to check it, there will be a switch, usually close to the temp sender, unplug it, if it is a NO switch, you will need to earth your wire & the fan will go, if it is NC it will start as soon as you remove the wire. it is possible that your swith could be faulty.

it maybe that it is not your engine that is overheating, but a faulty sender or gauge.

if your new motor didnt come with a new thermostat, it probably didnt come with a new temperature sender either, i am not sure where this is located on a Buick engine, but normally around the thermostat, an easy way to check it is to remove the cable & attach it to earth, then your temp gauge in the car should go all the way up as hot as it can,, this means your gauge is fine, replace your sender.

it is possible that the wire may not have been re-attached when transplanting the engine, in which case, your temp gauge wont work properly either.

this works for a NO temp sender, which is the most common.

NO = normally open

NC = normally closed

these are electrical terms for the type of circuit, NC means that the wire is always earthed, until it switches, then by removing the earth, it turns the switch on,, more common on toyotas than buicks

How do you locate and fix the heater fan blower on a 1970 Buick Skylark GS?

Lift the hood, and against the firewall, passenger side you will see the fan blower housing with the back of the motor visible. Remove the wire to the motor, and unscrew the small bolts around the circumference of the motor housing. Once bolts are removed, pull from the back of the motor. The fan will be attached to the motor after pulling the motor out, and you will have to remove the fan and attach it to your new motor. If you do not have air conditioning, the motor may be stuffed right behind the fender well. Then it depends on how much you value your car. If you want to do it with out cutting up the fender, you will have to remove the hood and fender to get access to it. some people will just cut the inner fender after removing the wheel and cut a hole for access and then put a plate back over it. I hope this will help you out and that I didn't sound belittling or not have enough info.

Locate radiator drain plug on 1990 buick skylark?

Driver side of the car. Bottom corner of the radiator. Belive me it's there, my GF called me about 45 minutes ago telling me the car puked out ALL it's coolant (for the third time in 2 years...). I just got back from looking at it and the drain plug broke off this time. I'm going through the Internet to see if it's something *I* can fix, or if it's go to get towed some where (and it's leaning towards getting towed somewhere AGAIN...) (as of 6-24-2007)

How do you replace the spark plugs on a 1992 buick skylark?

Well the easiest way is to pull the engine. But that's quite a task for someone that doesnt know how to change a spark plug.

Pull the wires off the spark plugs on the engine. Not the box where they all hook into.

Use a ratchet and a spark plug socket of the correct size to GENTLY break loose the spark plug. Twist plug out with fingers in a counter-clockwise direction. Reverse these instructions for installation.

Try not to break them off or you will be in big trouble.
