Can you put a 1970 buick 455 stage 1 in a 1967 Skylark Gs?

Yes you can...the 400 is the same engine as the 455...all you need are 455 frame mounts and motor mounts if you car had a small block V8 (340)...if it had a 400, a 455 bolts in perfectly since it is the same as a 455 externally!!! Year One, Inc. and TA Performance has whatever parts you may need.

Your car has a ticking sound and will not start?

I need some more detail on that one before answering, what happens from when you put the key in to when you pull it out. A detailed description is best. When I tried to start my car by turning the key, nothing happened. It seemed like the battery was dead and then a few minutes later, a ticking wound came from below the gas pedal and I have no idea what is causing it.

What engines are in a 1994 Buick skylark?

Mine has a 3.1 V6. There's also a 4 cyl. I think it's a 2.3 litre.

What is the spark plug gap for a 1990 model buick skylark 3300 3.3L?

Nappa and the little sticker under my hood tell me the gap should be .060 of an inch. Most plugs leave the factory with +/- .005 in the gap, so make sure to double check the size if you want a precise gap.

Where is the AC recharge valve located on a 1995 Buick Skylark?

The ac recharge port is the low side port. It is on the hoses on the passenger side of the engine close to the belts.

My 1995 Buick V-6 Skylark on occasion stutters when rpm drops below 2000 on the tach. If I accelerate and keep it above that it's OK. Seems to be weather related as mostly occurs when it is damp.?

I'm not 100% sure, but it might be a vacuum leak in the PCV pipe. Maybe the EGR valve needs replacing. Replacing any air hoses should help too. You should also replace the charcoal canister underneath the coolant tank.

Buick skylark 1995 spark plugs wiring order?

If you're really stuck, call a GM dealer's service center.

If you have taken all the wires off and have no idea where any of them go you need to find which one is number 1. Asking for wiring order implies you have done this. Firing order is the order in which they fire. Different questions. If you need to know how to find when the number 1 cylinder is in the right position, let me know.

Where do you put refrigerant in 1996 Buick Skylark?

Refrigerant for a 1996 Buick Skylark is inserted into the low pressure AC hose. This hose is found on the left side of the engine bay.

1976 Buick Skylark starts but stall when driving?

Could be a vacuum leak. I'm not too familiar with that engine, but check all the air hoses, the PCV system, EGR and all that.... Also, change the charcoal cannister.

How can you change the thermostat of a 1997 Buick Skylark Limited?

If it's the same as a 1996 Buick Somerset, then... WHEN THE ENGINE IS OFF AND COOL, remove the radiator cap. It's actually not on the radiator. Follow the top hose off the radiator to the engine block. Remove that cap. It should be full of antifreeze and or water and you may not see the thermostat, but it's there. Stick your finger in the throat and you'll feel the top of the thermostat. You can pull it straight out. It's 3 or 4 inches long, total.

Actually it's not the same as that vehicle. It's located on the driver side under the air intake/mass air flow housing (which has to be removed) and there are 2 bolts holding its housing in place. The top bolt isn't that bad to get to but the bottom, well it can be a bit tricky getting it back in (you have to use tips of your finger to get it started and hopefully you have somewhat small hands as it's quite a tight fit. I've replaced mine with not much trouble but plan on spending about 2 hours or so on it since you'll have to remove several things just to get to it and I'd suggest you take pictures or even better yet a video of the area you're working on if you've not worked on this vehicle before and/or don't know a lot about what you're doing.

How do you remove the ignition switch tumbler on a 1971 Buick Skylark?

Remove the steering wheel and lock plate then the turn signal switch and key reminder contacts, then a screw that runs right against the lock cylinder and pull it out. You need a puller for the steeering wheel and a spring compressor fot the lock plate available to rent at most parts stores,

How do you reach the tensioner for the serpentine belt on a 1994 Buick Skylark 3100?

First, I would remove the coolant resevoir,(just to get it out of the way) Then put in 3/8 to 1/4 adapter in the tensioner (ther is a square hole near the end) to get leverage. Then you can pry up with a long 3-4foot pry bar. I assume you just want to replace belt. I'm also assuming that your 3100 is the same as my 3100 in my 96 & 98.
