Where is the fuel filter located on a 1998 Cadillac Catera?

Most GMs have the fuel filter on the underbody railing close to the fuel tank. It will likely be a silver canister in the fuel line slightly smaller then a 12oz soda can. I would advise having a mecanic change it for safety reasons gasoline is very dangerous!! and it may spray out under pressure. They are mounted on the bracket that fastens the gas tank to the car under the right passenger axle. I just changed mine. It is NOT unsafe to change them as long as either you relieve the fuel system pressure or hold a rag around the banjo bold when you crack the bolt so gas doesn't spray all over you. It ran me about $20 at the local auto parts store.
