I am having to redo the entire interior but the engine and transmission are top shelf. The cars regularly go 300K but here are some thing to watch for. The cooling system is mmmm fragile. You need to follow the instructions from Cadillac and use the treatment pills with the coolant EVERY time. Otherwise you can run into problems ranging from a bad water pump to a blown head gasket.Early northstar engines were ignored by owners,...no premium fuel,...no coolant treatment. FARRR more reliable than Toyota (See any JD POWERS since 1992) and much faster to boot. David H

It depends. If you have the active audio system with the amps, you have 2 sub woofers on the rear deck, a midrange and a tweeter in each door and a midrange in the center of the dash. If it is the basic audio system. you have regular speakers in the rear deck and midranges plus tweeters in the front doors only. All the doors have 2 speakers in them just as I stated. There is a tweeter and a midrange crammed in there. They are wired in parallel, so if you plan on replacing the speakers, remove the door panel first and have a look in there.

Under vehicle near fuel tank/rear wheel area. no its on the passenger side in front of passenger seating area. its a bit of a pain to get to because its on fire wall at passengers feet i know i spent to days looking for mine every one said tit was in the rear driver side that's not for caddy its true for Buicks also be careful of nylon full line not to kink it. I found out that the fuel filter is located on the rear Driver side. I just changed one out today on my sister's Cadillac. If you look under the car on the front rear wheel drivers side, you will see the fuel filter. You may have to look closely. It is somewhat tucked away to where I almost didn't see it. IMPORTANT! You will have to work quickly from getting the old fuel filter out and placing the new one in. Even though it has an electric fuel pump, gravity will still pull down the gas and will pour on the floor. It would be a good idea to have an oil pan or some type of pan close by to catch the gas if you don't want it on the ground.

On my 4.6 litter 1996 Deville, the EGR valve was located on the upper back driver's side corner of the engine, a few inches away from the brake reservoir. It was absolute pain to remove because the fuel rail lines pass over the EGR mounting bracket. Be careful that you do not dislodge a fuel injector trying the replace the valve; note that you'll probably need to to disconnect the fuel lines to get them out of your way, which requires a special tool (or three hands).
