All the work done in most of these high school shops is monitored by a teacher that has not only a teaching degree but, must be ASE certified just to get the job. Keep in mind that the students are being graded on how well the do the work. Make sure you have both the camshaft and crankshaft timing gears replaced at the same time. If the timing chain has enough wear on it to get loose the gears are worn also.

i had the same problem with a 1991 ford taurus. the fuel pump is bad. the tank acks like a heat sync and vaporlocks the lines. if yu put a pressure gauge on it i bet u are only running at about 30psi and should be at 40+-. changing the fuel pump should cure this problem.

2. While watching the diagnostic information center (CIC) display keep pushing and releasing the OIL button on th DIC until you see OIL LIFE INDEX.
3. Hold IN the RESET button for 5 seconds until you see RESET on the DIC and the oil life index equals 100 percent and then release the button.

a 1996 deville has a total of 02 sensors. the 1st on is located on the bottom right side of the engine. The second is lower left side on maifold pipe,(left side of engine. The third one is before the cattalytic converter(bottom of car) And finally the fouth one is after the cattalytic converter,(follow the 3rd one back). All require special tool to remove. Sensors 1,3,4, are the simple to replace. Sensor two is in a tight spot. It almost took me an hour to replace it. All others take no more than ten minutes to replace. Good luck
