What is the operating temperature for a 1994 Cadillac eldorado?

In that Northstar engine, the temperature tends to swing wildly - it's all aluminum, so there is more thermal change. However, based on my 7 years of ownership of various Caddys and over 300,000 miles of travel in them, your temp, under normal conditions, will hover between 195 and 220 or so. Those engines can take a lot of heat, there's no real emergency until about 260 or so, with the proper 50/50 mix of coolant and water and with all other parts of the cooling system in good working order. The electric cooling fans don't come on LOW speed until 224 degrees, and they switch to HIGH at about 240. They come on automatically when the AC is switched on, however.

This Vehicle Should Have A 4.6 V8 Northstar 300 Horsepower Engine. They Installed These In This Year And Model. And Yes The Starter Is Under The Intake. (1) There Is A Ground Wire Beneath The Manifold That You Take One End Off To Raise Manifold ( be sure to reconnect this ) "2" Fuel Line Seals, Take You Time And Be Carful With This.On a scale This Is Around 8. If You Choose To Have It Done. Find A Good Reasonibly Priced Mechanic. Hope This Helps.

How many quarts of oil to change1997 Cadillac Eldorado?

5 quarts and have a quart on hand for a month or two later. The filter will absorb as much as a quart from waste oil and sludge. I use Napa filters and Kendal synthetic mix. My last 89 Seville had 475k miles before the head blew. And that was only the result of a cracked radiator. Kendal is not the most expensive but that's all I use and obviously it's been good to me.

How do you remove the ignition switch from a 1986 Cadillac ElDorado?

Remove the bezel from around the radio, this will expose two hidden screws. Remove these screws and about eight other screws to remove the lower dash panel below the steering wheel. Remove the two large bolts and drop down the steering column. The ignition switch is a white module on the top left of the steering column. Remove the connectors along the right and the two screws along the left. Lift up the switch to disengage the mechanical link to the key tumbler to remove. Good luck finding a new module, I couldn't locate one for mine, so I just reconditioned my old one using some contact cleaner.

If you're talking about the ingition cylinder, remove the steering wheel and turn signal switch. Remove the buzzer switch (white plug with a couple wires) located at about 4 o'clock by pulling straight out with a pair of needle nose pliers. This will expose the cylinder retaining screw. Remove the screw, and with the ignition switch in the locked position, pull the cylinder straight out...

What is a rear knuckle?

It is a critical component of the rear suspension which GM charges 500 to 700 because a set of bushings go bad. You can replace them by pressing out the old and pressing in new replacements from an Auto Parts dealer.

What would cause the power steering to suddenly stop working on a 1992 Cadillac Eldorado?

your serpentine belt came off probably I just bought a 1996 Eldorado with this same problem. The car won't overheat because there is another belt and tensioner on the other side of the engine for this. Check the belt tensioner the spring probably broke causing the serpentine belt to be loose and fling off.

Where is the ignition module on a 1993 Cadillac ElDorado and what does it look like?

Referenced from 'Chilton 28540 Deville/Fleetwood/Eldorado/Seville 1990-98 Repair Manual' Page 2-10: "Ignition Module The HEI Module, acting as an electronic ON/OFF switch controls the current flow in the primary winding of the ignition coil. This switching action induces a high voltage in the ignition coil secondary winding which is directed through the rotor ans secondary leads to fire the spark plugs. It is not necessary to remove the distributer from the car. 1. Remove the distributer Cap 2. Remove the rotor" This is the Ignition module. Don't remove or replace unless you understand how and know the procedure for changing.

What is the cylinder order for a 1997 Cadillac Eldorado ETC?

everyone should have a manual for their vechicle, and the library should have a professional shop manual available in the reference section for FREE to make copies of--the PRO manual has more detailed info, and may have wiring diagrams when needed...read up and fix 'em like a PRO...good luck Dave :) You are busting you chops Dave. Firing order is 1-2-7-3-4-5-6-8

Where is the antenna relay on a 76 Cadillac?

It is on the firewall under the dash at the passenger's feet. The mounting bracket is tucked under the carpet edge. It has a long mounting bracket which positions the relay with the prongs facing up. There is a three prong connector and a single prong connector. The relay is grounded via the mounting screws.

The part number is stamped on the mounting bracket 1602274. It is a single pole double throw (SPDT) relay. Since it is powered off a 20 amp fuse I assume it is rated at least 10 amps.

The pink wire is the power from the radio which energizes the coil to latch the relay. The orange is 12v+, green and black/white are up and down (can't remember which is which).

Mine just went bad. I've found new old stock replacements for around $125. Since I'm not looking to keep the car strictly original I plan to use a universal SPDT relay something like the Standard RY-73 (should cost around $15 to $25). Since it is tucked up under the dash I'm not worried about it looking factory original. I'll just have to make some short pigtails with spade connectors.
