I suspect you mean the neutral/safety switch. It is at the end of the shift cable, on top of the transmission, just below the brake booster. It is the main reason for not starting, not the starters! Wally of Hagerstown, MD

The switch inside the overflow tank is the coolant level switch. The engine coolant temperature sensor is located on the driver side of the engine near the rear of the engine compartment.

If the motor is a Northstar 4.6L, than the starter is probably under the Intake Manifold. I just changed mine and it took 1 hour. Only remove the 4 inward intake manifold bolts. You may need to loosen other things to help left it up high enough to get to the starter. You won't have to replaced any gaskets.

ur cadillac has two oxigen sensors one is behind the fans of the radiador under the car its located in the manifold the other one its on the pasenger side under the car its bolted on the cadilaconberter

I had the same issue with a 1997 SLS. I started with replacing the fuel filter and it has helped.

You may replace the bushings by pressing them out. GM would rather you not know this!!

A person may be able to visit a Cadillac dealership for a Cadillac Deville diagram. An auto parts store may also be able to give out a diagram for the car.

Unhook battery cables and then hook back up. Just a temporary fix for an alarm that won't stop. The system can't be completely disarmed unless you want to take a chance on the engine being disabled.

Mine went out and needed to be changed. A local gear head looked it up and most GM spec books say it is a 12-15 hr job. There is a single bolt that is impossible to get without a lot disassembly on the rest of the car...which is why there is so many hours involved. Most shops are $75-$100 an hour labor. Do the math.

Use the climate control unit. with key in on position and engine off press the off and the warmer button at the same time for about 3 seconds. the codes will be displayed. Use the fan speed switch to toggle between codes and to clear.

here is your answer,the 4.6 models require a special tool to extract the water pump from the coolant crossover housing,this special tool is expensive and the removal procedure is difficult,but you may be able to rent the tool from an auto store.disconnect negative terminal of the battery. drain the coolant.remove the water pump drivebelt.first the drivebelt shield must be removed.remove the air filter housing.remove the secondary AIR check valve bracket from the coolant crossover housing,if equipped.remove the lower radiator hose from the thermostat housing.remove the water pump bypass hose from the coolantcrossover assembly.remove the water pump cover.install water pump removal tool into the slotted tangs on the water pump and rotate clockwise to remove the water pump from the housing.clean the coolant crossover housing mating surfaces at the rear of the housing and the cover to remove any material left from the old seals.clean the suirfaces with lacquer thinner.install a new o-ring in the groove and install the new water pump. if u need anymore help email me at mr1159@yahoo.com

Press and hold the "Off" and "Warmer" to get into the system, once there use the fan/blower motor controls as follows: the High Fan button for "Yes" and the Low Fan for "No." Scroll through to you get to any A/C Codes. It should eventually ask "Clear Codes" and hit the High Fan button for Yes. Once cleared the A/C Compressor should come on, providing nothing else is wrong. It means the traction control is disabled. By default when you start your car it's enabled and will kick in on lose gravel ice or snow disbrituting power to the necessary wheels and cutting engine power to control the car. It also disingages cruise control. To turn it off the switch is in the glove box compartment. Then it will display "traction control off". Now if it says this all the time I would assume you need to take it in to a dealer and have it checked out. Personally I don't care if mine works or not. Just more stuff to fix on these cars.
