Do not rush the insertion/removal key cycling process. The side
marker/tail/license lamps and interior illumination will flash twice when this step is
accurately completed. 3. Insert key on ignition key cylinder and turn ignition key switch to "AAC" position
At this time, the new ID code is entered and original (previous) ID codes are erase. 4. Press any button on the new remote controller once. (The hazard warning lamp will then flash) NOTE:
Do not press the button more than one time in the above step. If the button
is pressed more than one time, the programming procedure will not be successful.

step is accurately completed and programming is successful. If there is only one remote controller skip step 5. 5. Additional ID code entry
Release the door lock, then lock again with door lock/unlock switch
(In power window main switch) 6. Remove key from ignition 7. Unlock driver side door, open driver side door and then close the door. (END) NOTE:
If you need to activate more than two additional new remote controllers, repeat
the procedure on step 5 "Additional ID code entry" for each new remote controller. NOTE:
Entry of maximum four ID codes is allowed and any attempt to enter more will be ignore.

I have been having a similar problem with my 94 Lebaron convertible. The alarm goes off intermittenly for no reason when you close the door. The factory book says to use the key and "lock and unlock" either the driver's door of the passenger's door. Sometimes this will work with many tries and sometimes it just goes off by itself.I read on a webpage that one person had disconnected the electric door locks because this is what activates the alarm.I don't know if that works or not. I am trying it today. I just removed the door handle cover and "unplugged" the electric door lock switches.I guess I will find out soon if this works.

My favorite question.......check this out....there is an anti theft device on your Chrysler verhicle.....use your key to unlock your back hatch. that will deactivate your alarm and turn off the auto shut off fuction of your security alarm...same with grand Cherokees. I can't give you exact details, but I have had to do this, and it is difficult, but doable. I was having trouble with my alarm going off all the time for no reason. You have to remove the fuse for the alarm. You should purchase or consult a manual for your car to determine the location of this fuse. For me, it was located very far up under the dash. It is possible. : ) Good luck. NOTE: if you are talking about shutting it off if you trip the alarm by opening the door or something, all you do is open the rear hatch. Opening the rear hatch will shut the alarm off once it has tripped.
