Got brakes done--now car makes a grinding type noise with a vibration after 80 kmph?
Sounds like the new symptom has something to do with the brake job.
Was a new brake rotor (disc) installed? Is the tire loose?
Were the wheel bearings greased when the brakes were done?
The grinding noise sounds like something might be rubbing, the vibration makes me think something is unbalanced. A bent rotor (disc) might cause both of these things.
If the brake pedal pulses uncomfortably when you try to stop the rotor may be warped.
Also make sure the tire is balanced properly.
Another important thing is sometimes a very small amount of lubricant is placed on the sliding area of the brake caliper. If the rubber bushings are old or swollen, or there is no lubrication on the sliding part of the calipers, the brake caliper may be stuck and not be releasing correctly, sort of like holding the brake half on while you're driving. If this is true your wheels might feel very hot after driving some distance. Sounds like something that should be fixed soon.

Are there any signs when your tie rods are going bad?
Tires will wear on edge typically as if out of alignment. By taking weight off front end with jack, check play side to side and top to bottom of wheels. If knuckle of tie rods have play, it is a pretty good indicator it is time to replace. Sometimes if tie rods bad, hitting a bump on highway will affect steering and feel sway. You will have to get a realignment after ward.
What does it mean if your Ford Ranger check engine light is on and truck lightly shakes?

Do inner tie rods cause shaking of the steering wheel if they are bad?
If any part on the front end were real bad, it could possibly cause a shake. I would take your car into the tire shop and have them check for.......separated tires, bent wheels, or out of round tires. Low speed shakes are normally tires that a coming apart from the inside out. Higher speed shakes are normally just tire balancing or out of round tires. Shake in the wheel indicates FRONT tires, shake in the seat normally indicates REAR. I have seen cases where a rear tire was separated and caused the steering wheel to shake on some cars as well. Have all four tires checked to save you time and give peace of mind. True fact: separated tires will get a divorce soon!
Steering wheel vibrates when driving fast?
If your tires are in good shape, it's probably just tire balance. Low speed wobbles and shakes are normally bad tires, tread separations, just FYI.
What does a tire rod look like?
What you're referring to is a tie-rod. A tie-rod is a hardened straight rod that is threaded on either end. On the ends are ball joints that connect the steering knuckle to the steering rack.

How do you adjust the idle on a 1986 Honda Accord LX?
The idle for a 1986 Honda Accord is adjusted by a idle air control valve. These function by either tightening or loosening the valve. This controls how much air is allowed into the system, more air means higher idle and less means lower.
What is the average lifespan of a car tire?
That depends on the quality of the tire, the condition of the vehicle and your personal driving style.
Hight quality tires are getting in excess of 60,000 miles. Cheap tires are getting as little as 20,000 miles.
If your wheels are misaligned or if there is a problem with the steering components your tire wear can be significantly affected, cutting the life expectancy of the tires to a fraction of what the manufacturer advertises.
If you drive erratically, aggressively or fail to keep your tires properly inflated you will also significantly affect the life expectancy of the tires.
