What makes the rattling noise under driver's feet when driving over bumps?
The sway bar end links could be damaged on a vehicle that is making that noise. Also, check the dust shields on the front brake assembly.Ê
What does it mean when there is a knocking noise from the engine when you let off the gas?
A bad connecting rod bearing can do this
Wavelength is the distance between corresponding (identical) phase points of a wave, the period over which a wave or signal repeats.
In electricity, it is the amplitude of a sine wave plotted over time.
Why does a clunking sound come from your front wheels when turning?
Defective CV joint or bad wheel bearing.
Your wheel bearing may have been damaged; your control arm may have been bent; your ball joint may have been dislocated; a tie-rod could have been bent. Visually inspect all parts for straightness, and give a good yank on the top of the tire and feel for any movement. If you feel a slight movement in the wheel, then your wheel bearing is bad. You could have bent your rim as well.
Why does the clutch make a thumping noise and slip when going up a hill?

What is the thumping noise from the engine compartment?
I have a 95 Camaro as well with the same problem. My problem was that my cam was eating up my lifters, and then they tried to fix the problem, and adjusted the valves wrong -- thus causing the thumping noise.
AnswerIf you hear it when first pulling out or turning from a stop, it could be loose or damaged motor mounts.Without seeing and/or listening to the vehicle, in person, it is almost impossible to tell you with any degree of certainty what the problem is, however...
It would be a good idea to check the rear universal joints. Then check the differential and tires.
Assuming this is an auto box, check the fluid level first. After that check the fluid filter and pump. Then the brake bands. Then the torque converter. If a manual box it's either the layshaft bearings or synchro cones. A transmission shop will tell you for sure.
What is 2000 jimmy front end hum noise?
You need to check the front wheel bearings, while driveing down the road stright turn the steering to the left and then to the right and listen to see if the hum noise changes, if not then both bearings are bad left and right sides. If the hum noise changes while turning to the left then right front bearings are bad , if hum noise changes while weaven to the right then left bearings are bad.
What would cause a whining noise while accelerating?
Whining noises often come from the alternator or the steering pump. Check the power steering fluid in the pump (there is a dipstick on the pump), and have an AVR test done on the alternator.
If the alternator is faulty, you are probably having battery problems as well. If the steering pump is low on fluid or is faulty, you probably are experiencing jerky steering from time to time.
At 150 k miles first check oil pressure at engine hot with a known accurate gauge. Make sure that the pressure exceeds the minimum mfg specification for the engine. If the oil pressure is ok, then use a mechanics stethescope to locate the exact area of the noise. High on the engine indicates valve or piston related, middle on the block indicates piston and low on the block is lower end, ie bearings rods or mains. Make sure you correctly locate the noise before tearing into the engine, nothings worse than making an erroneous diagnosis when it comes to time and dollars... If the noise is indeed in the top of the engine then pull the valve cover and check for wear in the valve train. Repair or replace pivot points, lifters, etc. as may be required.
What is causing a grinding noise on Passenger side when you turn right?
Could be bad pulley in accessory belt system if you have power steering, something contacting the rotor on that side or a failing wheel bearing.
What is wrong when it pops when you turn the wheel of your vehicle?
its the steering bars going to the front tire(s).. you got a few things there but its prob. cv joints (shop price $150-300) per side.. it is a safety hazard and will fail safety test for tags. could cause u to crash if it gets worse when driving or could break other parts if not fixed fast enough
Perhaps a pebble got stuck in either cv joint or in behind brake caliper
When your AC is turned on it makes a really irritating squealing noise. What could it be?
it sounds like the compressor drive belt is loose under the hood.or the noise may be the blower motor{blower that pushes air into your car} rule blower motor out by using fan in heat mode. Or maybe a bearing in the clutch has gone out.
I don't know! Ask a mechanic or something.
Pebble caught between rotor and disc pad?
Does gumout engine flush damage your vehicle?
Engine flush is designed to clean out the gunk in the system. If the crud blocks up in the engine and the flush just piles it up worse, then there could be problems, but the flush itself is safe.
