Why do the dash vents not work but the defrost does on 1985 camaro?

The vent selection is controlled by a stiff wire that pushes or pulls mechanical flaps inside the dash to channel the air. If you can't control the air flow it could be that the cable is detached on either end, or that one of the flaps inside/underneath the dash is broken or jammed. If your selector lever moves smoothly, it's likely that your cable has become disconnected. If the selector jams, it's probably a flap and will need some dashboard disassembly.

If the exhaust pipe is damaged can it cause the car to die and not want to start?

If it is restricted enough, the exhaust valves could burn out. Other than restriction, I wouldn't see how. Only if the pipes are pinched shut or almost completely blocked. Theres no backpressure it will stall out constantly or not start at all. (ever paint a potato black and stick it in someones exhaust pipe?) Theoretically, you can run the car with a huge gaping hole or no exhaust at all, it will sound like junk but it will run.

What emission components are needed to make a 1974 Corvette 350 engine legal in a 1986 Camaro in Missouri?

EmissionsYou should first check with your State Motor Vehicle Dept. to see if you can in fact install an older motor in a newer car. Some states do not allow that. Then if that's okay, then probally all you will need are the Factory Emissions stuff installed on a 1986 Camaro since all you have to do is meet the Emissions Standards for that year if your state requires it.

How do you change the oil pan gasket on a 94 Cadillac deVille Concours FWD?

unfortunatly there is only one answer to this question and that is to take it to a dealership or some reliable mechanic. The car has to be on a hoist, and the complete motor and transaxle has to be removed. There is really no oil pan on the northstar. It is the upper and lower engine components that house the crank etc. Sorry about this one. I own a 94 and a 97 and the problem is the same for both of them . The 94 has cost me 3400.00 to complete, and it is going to be the same for the 97. The gasdket by the way costs 35.00. Go figure. The engineers at GM have this one worked out so their dealerships can count on one of these major repairs starting around 160,000 Kms.

Is there another way to replace fuel pump for 1998 Chevy Camaro without removing thee gas tank?

I have a 99 camaro and I replaced mine by cutting the metal from inside under the hatch in between the storage well and the back seat. It was either that or jack the car up, somehow move the exhaust system out of the way, drop the rear axle and then drop the tank. I just went for the easier cutting it out. I know some people would not want to do this because it does require cutting the metal out but I just taped mine back and the carpet covers it up anyways.

Hope this helps some.

Is there a quick fix for a blown head gasket?

NO!!!

Well.... maybe, but it's a gamble in the eyes of most!

A lot of people are against it, but actually, there is a great quick fix for a blown head gasket. It's called BARS Seal/leak. There is a few different brands besides BARS, but when the directions are followed exactly, I have fixed many cars, trucks, and SUV's with BARS. It is a thick liquid substance, that can be purchased at most auto stores, that is poured into the radiator. I am currently driving a 1995 4runner that blew a head gasket back in 2001. After just 1 $10.00 bottle of BARS, it's still running like a top.

Need help with your 1991 camaro fan stopped working but does have power?

With the the 91 fans, there were four items the fans needed in order to work. the power to the fan, a working fan motor, and a coolant temperature switch (located near the starter on a v-8 engine, and the relay located by the windshield wiper motor, there should be two relays. The way it worked. power was supplied through the relay when the coolant temp switch closed (closed and grounded the circuit, around 195 degree F). Another way for the fan to get power is by the way of the A\C that turns on the fan automatically. If you do get power to the fan without the A\C on, the rest of the circuitry is fine and a new motor sounds to be in order. If you only get power with A\C on then you should look at the relay and coolant temp switch, and fan motor. Make sure the fan does work first, if it does than look at the other items

How do you change the front blinker bulbs on a 1995 Ford Probe?

1. Remove the screws and pull down on the front portion of the fender liner. This provides just enough room for your hand to reach in and access the two bulb holders.

2. Turn the bulb holder counterclockwise and pull it out of the housing.

3. Pull the bulb from the holder and replace.

** What the book DOESN"T tell you is that it's a whole lot easier if you turn the tires opposite from the side you need to get too. Also, if you have really large4 hands or forearms, you may need to take the tire off altogether.

Was there a 383 1969 Camaro?

To build a 383 sbc (small block Chevy) a 3.75 inch stroke 400 sbc crank is added to a .030 inch overbored 350 sbc. This combination has never been released by Chevrolet in a production vehicle . So the answer to your question is no .

What could cause a V6 98 Chevy Camaro to stall or jerk when you accelerate?

check your spark plugs and wires. if they are all firing correctly and are in good condition, check your injectors and fuel pump/filter. if it's only during acceleration, it's either a fuel delivery problem or ignition problem. I had the same thing like a month ago. Did a complete tune up and it now runs perfectly. You'll notice a difference as soon as you change the plugs.
