Remove armrest handle big screws, remove window and door lock control carefully to not break tabs, unplug. Remove outside mirror control and unplug. Remove manual window control if so equipped, remove outside mirror bezel. Carefully pull side door trim up and out at the top first. Make sure all hooks are free before removing door panel.

To change the oil pan gasket, jack up the car and make sure it is secure before you get underneath, look to where the oilpan is (look for the drain bolt) all around the upper of the oilpan there are bolts (approx 8) empty the oil thru the plug, then remove these bolts, the pan will come off and there is the gasket on the outer edge of the pan. you must also remove a section of the exhaust to drop the oil pan and there is also a crossmember that runs front to back on the car you must remove

this is something I need to know as well... I have R & R'd power window motors before. pretty simple really you just have to find the trick to getting your door panel off without breaking any of your connectors holding it together. most that I have taken off disconnect from the bottom of the door and have to slide upwards to be removed. In some vehicles the connectors absolutely have to be replaced; I don't think this is one of those models but it is not that expensive to replace them anyways so it would be a good idea (annoying squeaks and rattles from these can drive you crazy).

Mine always ran hot in traffic or idioling. It even burned up water pumps, leading to leaks and destroying the (expensive) opti spark. I did a lot of grabing at staws attempts at fixing it with no luck. I finally took it to GM and they said its normal to run up to the red line, then go down. It was designed like that for emition reasons. I finally put a Hypertech chip in it to turn the fans on at a lowr temp (boost performance too ;-) ). That fixed the whole problem perfectly! Only draw back is, you have to take it out in the winter or you get no heat/defrosters. Hope this helps. Good luck.

one is most places test for free. but the easy at home way to check is get your car jump started if its not starting on its own. after its running, pull the negative off the battery taking special car not to arc your wrench on anything. if its keeps running, alternator is good. if it dies, get it replaced. if the alternator is bad, it may have killed the battery, so get it tested and replaced if needed.

The bolts that hold the tilt steering together work loose and need tightening. You have to take the column apart including the bowl and tigthten them. You need special tools.
If you take the initiative to purchase the tool, pull the tilt wheel pins and then pull the knuckle out, be sure to purchase a bearing kit and replace the bearing while you are in there. A lot of the "looseness" you feel in the wheel will be due to these bearings wearing out over time. A good kit includes the igition swtch actuator. Replacing this at the same time will save you a lot of hassles down the road.
