When was the Corvette made?

The very first Corvette, a 6 cylinder, designed by Harley Earl, was made in 1953. They have been in production ever since. Current production is in Bowling Green, Ky. Answer Correct. The first official production year of the Corvette was 1953. It first appeared as a concept car at the 1952 Autorama show, and was so well-received that GM gave it the green light for production.

Harley Earl was one of a hand-picked design team. Another noteworthy name in Corvette history is Zora Arkus-Duntov.

The first Corvettes actually used the same frame, chassis, drivetrain components and gauges as the regular Chevrolet passenger vehicles. The only real differences were that the 6-cylinder engine in the Corvette was equipped with performance-enhancing parts and the then-revolutionary fiberglass coupe body.

Now in their 6th generation, Corvettes are produced at a specialized production facility in Bowling Green, KY. (This facility opened in 1981.) Along with the that assembly line is the National Corvette Museum. No 1983 Corvette was put into production. Only prototypes. There were apparently several design flaws and production setbacks. The first Corvette rolled off of the assembly line June 20, 1953.

Simply reach up under the headlight, below the grills, grab the center of the headlight mechanism and pull while gently lifting on the headlight door. This will bring the headlight to its open position. Once up, the headlight mechanism will lock in place, to lower the headlights, push against the mechanism and the door will close. You will basically be doing the work of the headlight actuator from the opposite side.

How do you get to and replace the optispark in 1994 corvette lt1?

the optical spark sensor is mounted inside the disributer. the water pump must be removed make sure you completely drain coolant from engine and radiator if any spills on dist cap and wires you will have the time of your life getting the car to run on all cylinders any moisture on cap and engine will misfire like crazy keep cap and wires dry. mark wires with ink paintpen (best way)so firing order is not mixed up pull wires from cap, remove dist cap remove rotor unplug dist harness remove distributer mount bolts mark rotor position before remove make sure spline shaft between water pump and dist doesnot drop pull dist out replace timing cover oil seal replace opti sensor put it back in reverse order I would spend 10 bucks and get procedure from alldata.com they let you pay for a one time use get it and understand what you are doing.the job calls for a minimum of a b plus or a rated technician, don't hurt that car if you have doughts let a pro do it you can develop unwanted oil leaks from cam driven water pump or leak oil into the distributor which will damage new opti. also if cap and rotor have 100k change it and use delco parts only

Where is the heater blower fan resistor on a 85 corvette?

Under the hood, passenger side, in the top of the fan housing there is a cable with a rubber boot on the end. it is attached to a plate with 3 screws. remove the 3 screws and the resistor assy will lift out. If you just want to look at it, you can leave the wires attached which will help to keep from dropping it when it is removed. If the fan motor is running, don't touch the wires, they can be very hot. Also don't let them touch anything metal as this will short them and cause them to break.

What is the value of a removable hardtop for a 1969 Corvette?

For a tru GM Corvette fiberglass hardtop, expect to pay $900 - $2500. I've seen the aftermarket variety for as little as $100. Of course, those are usually a basic fiberglass cover with a plexiglass window - without a headliner or latches... usually bolted-in. However, those are fine for some folks.

How do you replace the front turn signal bulb located on a 1998 Chevy Corvette?

From underneath, remove five underbody cover screws. Remove cover. Pull brake cooling tube off where is attaches to the front bumper. Push the tube to the side so you can get to the light fixture better. The turn signal bulb mounts in the bottom of the fixture. There is a clip on the bulb socket. Squeeze the clip and turn the socket counter clockwise. The wire is long enough to drop the socket out the brake cooler inlet hole in the bumper ... then you can go to the front of the car. Just pull the old bulb straigt out of the socket and push the new one into place. Its a good idea to put a little electrical grease on the contacts before inserting the new bulb. Now test that its working correctly. Go back underneath and put everything back together.

How do you change park light bulb in a 2000 corvette?

I had the same problem and the owners manual said to take to the dealer. For a burnt out bulb? I looked on the internet and found several methods, this is the one I felt most comfortable with and worked for me.

OK, open the hood, manually raise the headlight on the side the marker light is on, by cranking the knob on the headlight motor. Remove the screws for the headlight shroud and remove. Loosen the jam nut for the hood support just enough so you can unscrew it and remove, then you are able to reach down in an squeeze the clip and turn the socket at the back of the marker light and separate it from the housing, and replace the bulb. The difficult part is getting the socket back in the housing. You can see all this until you stick your arm in there. Once you have your arm in there it is all done by feel.
