Additional InfoThe rebuilt window motor I got at NAPA had 4 bolts to fasten the motor to the regulator and 4 large rivets to fasten the regulator back to the door, all included in the box ($65). Now all I need is a really big rivet gun (these are too big for a standard rivet tool, like the one I have. Crank the engine until the mark on the damper aligns with the TDC or 0 degree mark on the timing tab and the engine is in the No. 1 firing position. This can be determined by placing your fingers on the No. 1 cylinder valves as the marks align. If the valves do not move, it is in the No. 1 firing position. If the valves move, it is in the No. 6 firing position (No. 4 on V6) and the crankcase should be rotated one more revolution to the No. 1 firing position.
With the engine in the No. 1 firing position, the following valves can be adjusted:
V8: Exhaust 1, 3, 4, 8
V8: Intake 1, 2, 5, 7
V6: Exhaust 1, 5, 6
V6: Intake 1, 2, 3
Back out the adjusting nut until lash is felt at the pushrod, then turn the adjusting nut in until all lash is removed. This can be determined by checking pushrod end-play while turning the adjusting nut. When all play has been removed, turn the adjusting nut in:
1/2-11/4 additional turn (flat lifter)
3/4-11/4 additional turn (roller lifter V8)
3/4 additional turn (roller lifter V6)
Crank the engine 1 full revolution until the marks are again in alignment. This is the No. 6 firing position (No. 4 on V6). The following valves can now be adjusted:
V8: Exhaust 2, 5, 6, 7
V8: Intake 3, 4, 6, 8
V6: Exhaust 2, 3, 4

This information can be applied to any V8 motor with a firing order using a locking nut style rockerarm adjustment.
The first thing to do is have some shop rags handy as well as a good assortment of tools. You will need a long 1/2 drive ratchet and possibly a suitable pipe for leverage, and a socket large enough to turn the engine by hand.
You may start by removing the valve covers and position the number 1 cylinder on . This can be done by turning the engine clockwise, , until the mark on the damper aligns with 0 degrees on the timing tab located at the lower front center area of the engine. You can determined when both valves are at by placing your fingers on the No. 1 cylinder valves as you align the marks. If the valves do not move, it is in the No. 1 firing position. If the valves move, it is in the No. 6 firing position and the engine must be rotated one more revolution to the No. 1 firing position.

You can also adjust number 2,5,and 7 intake valves and 3,4,and 8 exhaust valves while doing the number one cylinder. Once these are done rotate the motor clockwise exactly one turn. You can now adjust number 3,4,6,and 8 intake valves as well as number 2,5,6, and 7 exhaust valves. Once these are done the valve adjustment is complete.
Replace both valve covers using new gaskets. Take special care to thoroughly clean gasket surfaces and do not over tighten cover bolts.

This is best done as a 2 man job!
Most important thing to note is that on the date of my post, Chevy only has 5 headliners left, and they are no longer manufacturing this part. Date: 1-19-2008
How to replace the headliner:
1) Remove all cabin lights and visors using a #2 Phillips head screwdriver. Note that you MUST use a #2 to remove and replace these screws as they will strip if you use a #1.
Note: When removing cabin lights, be sure to disconnect them, rather than letting them hang as they will probably be damaged.
2) Pull down on the front and back center (by the rearview mirror and rear cabin light you've just removed) of the headliner to remove it. Note: To minimize dust and fibers, be sure to slide the seatbelts through the precut slots rather than rip or force the original headliner out.
3) Using a flathead screwdriver, remove the interior door trim on the driver's site, from the uppermost point (just behind the driver side seat). You should encounter two (2). Continue down to the first clip of the windshield beam by gently pulling to your right to remove that clip. Note that you'll only have to slat this one back into position later.
NOTE: You should NOT need to remove the passenger side to install the new headliner, but if it makes you feel better to do so, feel free to repeat step 3 on the passenger side.
4) Lay both the driver and passenger seats all the way back and put the new headliner into the Camaro. From the driver side, it is best to maneuver the headliner in back-end first with the unfinished side to your left. Push it into the car at a 45 degree angle turning in into position over the seats.
5) While one person holds the headliner up, the other should pull down gently on the rear passenger side cosmetics and feed the seatbelt through the cut allowing the headliner to fall into position. DO NOT PUSH UP ON THE HEADLINER AT THIS POINT. The Velcro will attach and could be damaged when you have to remove it.
(It is best to push the headline further in than it will actually have to go, so you can clear the cosmetics on the driver side on the next step.)
Push the headliner into place between the frame and the passenger side door trim making sure the fabric goes in smoothly, all the way to the front of the car.
6) Feed the driver side seatbelt through the cut in the headliner and repeat step 5 on the driver side.
7) Reinstall the driver side door trim over the new headliner.
8) Reinstall visors and cabin lights.
