How do you replace the hazard flasher switch in a 1999 VW Passat?
It's really easy. There is a blank filling a hole directly below the hazard sw. Use a small screwdriver, and carefully prise this out. Insert your finger into the hole, and up into the back of the hazard switch and ease it forward. you can prise it out with a screwdriver also, but i found this method offered less chance of damage to the dash.
On a side note, my 2001 wagon has the heated seats & so the blank is below not only the hazard relay switch but the heated seats control knob. So it's unreachable from the blank spot. That being said I just popped the switch out as described. (I used a butter knife) to get the face of the button off then pliers to pull the switch out. Easy as pie.

How do you install an oil pressure sending unit on a 2002 Chevy Impala?
On a 2002 Chevy Impala the Oil Pressure sending unit or Oil Pressure Switch is located on the passenger side of the car, behind the front tire just above the axel shaft. It is to the left of the oil filter and has a electrical connector attached to it.
The easiest way is to take the tire off and use an adjustable wrench to give it small turns and take it out. It is not threaded too deeply and comes out easily when the oil leaks out around it.
To install the new one there are 2 ways:
1) Use the same adjustable wrench and give it small turns till it feels snug then check your oil level fill, accordingly, and check for leaks. I've done it this way twice before successfully after learning not to over tighten and not to use any thing other then an adjustable wrench so as not to damage the metal housing.
2) The second method is to remove the bar across the top of the engine, remove the coolant reservoir then the serpentine belt and finally to unbolt the power steering pump and move it aside. By doing this the high pressure hose (metal one) from the power steering pump is out of the way and you can use a oil pressure switch socket (about $10 any auto parts store) to thread in the new sensor evenly all around. The first time I used channel locks and snugged it real tight damaging the metal housing causing the two halves to seperate and leak.
With either method check the low pressure (rubber hose) on the power steering pump when done to make sure it did not become loose and is still on tightly or you'll lose power steering fluid.
I've found with doing it either way original GM parts worked the best. BWD and a few other brands seemed to fail even after I would use the adjustable wrench method or the socket. I shoped around online at GM parts dealers and found it for $45.

How do you get your Impala out of park?
1st put on parking brake with car off. on passenger side pull plastic on the bottom (by floor) of center console out far enough to reach hand in; find the wiring harness and there is a button you can push to release interlock .You can then put car in neutral while holding down on button and start and drive car. It is a bit of a pain, but can get car to destination without towing or ripping console apart . Fairly common problem with wiring in harness wearing due to motion of shifter. Can try pushing wires back into wiring harness; I got mine to work for another year after doing this before taking to shop for $150 repair
Your problem probably is with the Body Control Module. This expensive and a dealer has to replace it. If you are lucky it may just be a loose connection leading to the BCM.

How do you flush the radiator of a 2004 Chevy Impala?
This has been made difficult on newer model vehicles. Since the 1980's fewer cars have been fitted with drain valves on the bottom of the radiator. This could be to reduce the pollution caused by DIYers who drain antifreeze into storm drains or simply into the soil, or it could be intended to push car owners into repair shops, or a bit of both. However, where there is a will there is a way.
Typically, when no drain valve is on the radiator, you simply disconnect the lower hose. It is a bit more cumbersome, but it works. Just be certain that you use new clamps on the hose when you are done, especially if these are the prong-type squeeze clamps. Consider using the standard screw-type hose clamp instead.
It will be necessary for you to bleed the air from the system as you refill it with DEX-COOL. There are two bleed valves on the standard equipped 3800 V6 engine. See the link below, beginning on page 5-37, for more detail.

How much does it cost for 2002 Tahoe tuneup?
About $300 to $400 depending where you go. If you go to the dealer expect to pay in the $400 or more range. If you want to save money you can replace the plugs, wires, rotor, and cabin filter yourself, then have the shop do the rest. That's what I do and it saves me at least $100. You can also try Craigslist.com they have these mobile mechanics who are very inexpensive and plus while they are working on your truck you can learn how to do it by watching. It is very easy.
Why does your Chevy Impala shift hard from 1st to 2nd only after cars warms up but not all the time?
because all the new Chevy auto trannys have problems similar to that. take it to the dealer, probly the modulator valve.
update, these trannies, if yours is a 2000-early 2003 have faulty pressure control solenoids, this is likely the issue, you could try having trans serviced and flushed first, i am reading that having the solenoid changed costs 500-600 dollars at a shop
On 1998 Tuarus' You must roate the plunger with either a needle nose pliers or the specilty tool that ford makes, i use a channel lock pliers being very careful not taer the boot or go the wrong way and remove the plunger. I belive it is for most of this model run of tuarus' that you do this it is a really bad design.
