Your best bet for a superior transmission flush would be to go to bgfindashop.com and locate a shop near you. The BG system has a cleaner that is used first. Then they do a total fluid exchange to include the transmission cooler and a conditioner is added. Also doing it with their system does NOT require that the filter be changed. And if your milage is okay you will get a guarantee.

You need to remove the fuse for it, for that you'll need a manual for that model and year. The above answer is incorrect, sure you could do that but!!!! Check in the glove box to see if there is a round push button switch. If there is and it wasnt removed- this button will disable the traction control. To verify that it is off there will be a light that says traction control that will light up on the instrument panel. It will reset back to ON everytime the car is shut off. This is on a 1998 p71 Crown victoria, an LX Vic should be the same.

It depends on what the book to your car says. Ours said the best oil is 10W30, but in some very cold conditions 5W30 would be ok. We have a 2002 Impala. When in doubt it is probably located on the oil cap of the car what type of oil you need to put in. We are using 5W30 oil now since some dumb half dead looking mechanic guy who changed the oil last put it in (It really does not get cold enough in North Carolina to need that grade of oil) but so far the car has no problems and when I asked another mechanic, not lying idiot one, he said it should be ok for now.

An air lock could do it. Run the engine to operating temperature then shut it off and let it cool down. Refill the reservior and rerun it to operating temperature. Shut it off to cool. Do not run it to overheating. Do this until you do not need to add anymore coolant. Then run the engine and see if it overheats. Watch the cooling fan and see if it is coming on. If not have it checked out.

My experience with overheating but not actually overheating is i changed radiator, waterpump, radiator cap, thermostat (180), and still had problem with it getting hot after 10-15 mins of driving. I work here in kuwait where the temp get between 100-130 in the shade, over here we SS caprices, same car, but these vehicles were based on police package due to extreme heat and road condition. Here these clowns only use and can get only 180 degree thermostats, not a 160 nowhere, so what i have found out is that thermostats dont open at the temp it say it is? 180 themostat put in a pot of boiling water 300 degrees actually opens between 224-242 fully open, and closes right 181? weird huh? I had to go old school on it, you can drill holes in top of thermostat this will allow fluid to flow instead of being block and heating up pass desired temp. I guess if i had done this first, it would have saved me some money.
