How do you change the cooler lines on a 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer transmission?

Any work under the hood of a car could be a technical process.

See related links for instructions.

ANS 2 You should take this opportunity to totally change the transmission fluid. To do this properly, first raise the front of the car about 1 foot, brace it up on blocks (I won't insult you by explaining simple stuff like that ) then disconnect the lower trans coolant line from the rad. Put a 5 gallon bucket under this line. now start and idle the engine in 'Park' . Fluid will slowly pump out into the bucket as the system empties. Takes 10-15 minutes. When no more fluid comes out, shut off engine and drop trans pan, remove and change filter and gasket, replace pan and bolt up carefully using opposing bolt method. Now disconnect both coolant lines from transmission and fit the new ones. When all is together, lower the car and pour in new fluid, EXACTLY the same amount as came out into the bucket. Have 2 litres spare fluid handy. Now switch on and idle the engine again, when engine/trans is warm measure fluid on the dipstick. Now add to recommended level on dipstick.

This method replaces the fluid from the convertor, that never normally gets changed when you just do the trans pan.

Now you've done a simple job that would have cost you 3-400 at the garage !

Does a 1999 Chevy Prizm have a 15 bolt or 18 bolt Transmission filter?

Be smart and know for sure. Go or call the Chevy dealer parts dept in your area and ask for a transmission filter for your Prizm. They will ask you for your vehicles Vin Number from your registration card. The numbers from your registration will provide them with most if not all of your vehicles requirements including transmission information. If you want to do it yourself safely get under the car and count the amount of bolts on the transmission pan, it will be 15 or 18 bolts. Easier to call dealer. If you have a 3 speed transmission (Drive,2,L on your gear shift) you probably have a 15 bolt. If you have a 4 speed transmission you probably have 18 bolts. Hope this is helpful.

Which oxygen sensor is considered sensor 2 and how do you fix it?

In most applications the the #2 O2 sensor is the one downstream. Imagine your exhaust is a river flowing and the downstream thing makes more sense. Most inline engines only have two o2s, and the one behind the catalytic converter is #2. In V configurations there is the added distinction of bank 1 and bank 2. This refers to each side of the motor and varies with each manufacturer as to which one is which. As for fixing it, assuming the problem is a worn out sensor and not a wiring problem, replace it. They are solid-state non-serviceable parts and there ain't nothing you can do to get it working again. Bear in mind that all the sensors in the exhaust system have experienced the exact same conditions and should be replaced when one fails - ideally. Practicality and $ often dictate that only the dead one gets replaced. Depending one the programming in your vehicle, you may need to reset the adaptive fuel trim after replacing the O2, call your friendly neighborhood dealer for specifics on your particular vehicle. A little heat will help unstick any siezed sensors, get the boss in the pipe where it screws in red hot and it'll come out like butter. Watch for fuel leaks und the car BEFORE lighting the torch or the dead sensor may no longer be the cars biggest issue.

How do you change the blower motor resistor in a 2001 Chevy prism?

Remove the glove compartment. Its behind it just to the left of the Blower.

Disconnect the connector with four wires on the bottom. Remove two hex head screws, also from the bottom. I used a 7/32 socket to remove them. Remove resister. The resister looks like a small circuit board with printed circuit traces on it. Install new resister in reverse order.

How do you remove the headlight assembly on a 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer?

Really easy. Slowly pull off the front grill piece by pulling it out from top near the headlight and move around slowly. Take care with the cross bar ends as they are more delicate. There are two tabs on the light assembly. One on the top inside edge and one one the outside edge. Use a flat head screwdriver to slide that tab up and the one on the side outwards. The headlight assembly will now drop forward. www.trailvoy.com All the answers for your Trailblazer from true enthusiasts!
