How do you add refridgerant to a 1997 Geo Tracker?

The distributor is located on the rear of the engine next to the firewall on a 2.0 4 cylinder.

To put drum brakes back together on a 01 Tracker, put together drum brakes by the edges. Spray with penetrating oil. Finally, tighten the bolts and lug nuts.Ê

Needs to be in park or drive only.

My Manual says on page 2-23

Stop your vehicle and shift your transmission to NEUTRAL (N).

Shift the transfer case in one continuous motion.

Don't pause in NEUTRAL (N) as you shift from FOUR-WHEEL LOW (4L) to FOUR-WHEEL

HIGH (4H) or your gears could clash.

You can shift from TWO-WHEEL HIGH (2H) to FOUR-WHEEL HIGH or vice versa at any speed if your vehicle is gioing less than sixty mph or one hundred k

Couldn`t be any simpler.Just requires a wrench 13mm maybe don`t recall and a socket and ratchet same size and vise grips.The links are avaible separetly or as a kit.Get the kit as I fixed 1 side then other side broke 4 weeks later.Just loosen top bolt then bottom one.You may have to grip broken lower end with vise grips to stop turning.Then just reassemble.Very simple and a world of difference no clunks

The headlights are designed to be on all the time as this is a legal requirement in Sweden. It can be bypassed via the ignition switch harness by finding the power supply wire on the switch multiplug and isolating it. Disconnecting it here should not affect the main light switch operation. There also may be a fuse for the driving lights which is separate to the fuse for the main light switch. check the fuse box diagram may be listed as driving lights, aux lights or safety lights. If car is under warranty tampering may invalidate it.

Yes but only at a low speed and for only so many miles. then you should start the car and let the trans circulate the fluid or it will ruin the trans.

Your transfer case fluid level may be low. It was on my 2000 and it was extremely difficult (i.e. almost impossible) to shift into 4 high from 2 high, whether stopped or moving. I got the fluid changed and you could use a single finger to shift it after that. If you are trying to shift when the vehicle is moving, make sure the front wheels are fairly straight and your speed is low. Also if you are moving on bare pavement it may be harder. The 4wd systems on the tracker don't use transfer case clutches, so it relies on wheel spin to keep the fron axle in sync with the rear. The wheels won't spin on paved surfaces and the vehicle computer will sometimes prevent a shift. That's also why there is a delay when shifting in 4wd. Hope this helps.

The truth is you should probably go to the dealer to get diagnosed because it could be the motor (regulator) or a short somewhere in the line.

The door is easy to get to and fairly simple wiring; I recently fixed my stereo and had to take door panel off to access the mids. Buy a manual and continuity tester and with some patience you can track the short. There are also 2 relays (a up and down relay) that lock or unlocks the door.

Before we get into timing and whatnot, let me just ask what the actual observed know problem and/or symptoms are.

2002 has a pull cord at the back of the seat(by the seat belts) which unlocks the bottom to fold forward then the back folds down with the button release by the head rest... hope this helps

The fuse layout is located in the owners manual. There are two fuse boxes. One is under the hood on the passenger side mounted in front of the battery at the fender well. The other is on the drivers side under the dash mounted on the left side where you normally rest you left foot while driving. Both boxes have a brief description and fuse replacement sizes.

located on rt side remove glove box and its on evaporator housing about 5inch square one plug is all it has contrrol ac clutch condensor fan and idle up when system is turned on problem is finding than lookink now.

ask dealer for op guide. it is a safety issue and they must get them for you.

I use a hockey puck on my jack to protect my car.

do not jack body , it is separate from frame and weak.

turn belt tensioner clockwise to loosen there is a special tool you can get as loaner tool

On the drivers side of the throttle body. little black box with 2 screws and 3 wire connector coming out of top

If you are asking this question, then your dipstick has probably broken off. Some idiot designed it to be made of plastic, which breaks off flush with the opening. We've replaced the dipstick on my wife's car several times.

If the engine is the 4-cyl 2.0, standing at the front of the engine, look for a hole in the head (similar to the one the designer had in his) just to the left side of the valve cover, about half way front to rear. The hole will appear to be plugged with a piece of plastic. That's what's left of your dipstick. Remove it with a small pair of needle-nose pliers and pay a visit to your local dealer's parts department, because replacement dipsticks can only be found at a dealership.

you dont,you take it to a shop and pay them 500 dollars to fix it
