Compression ratio in foot lbs-1993 Chevy s10 pickup with a 2.8?
factory recomeded compression ratio in foot pounds for a 1993 Chevrolet s10 truck with a 2.8 engine?
Compression ratio in a vehicle usually refers to the difference of cylinder displacement at top dead center versus bottom dead center. For example: if the volume is 1 cubic inch at the top of the piston stroke and 10 cubic inches at the bottom of the piston stroke, 1/10=10:1 compression ratio (or is it 9:1? Close enough for government work.)
Foot pounds is a measurement of torque. The two most common measurements of torque on a vehicle is either the twisting force exerted by a vehicle's engine (torque/hp engine specs) or how tight a bolt is supposed to be turned (lb/ft of torque specs for a bolt).
Other than the fact that compression ratio and foot pounds may be used to describe a vehicle's engine attributes, they have nothing else in common.
What is the minimum speed for an airbag to deploy in a 2004 Chevy Silverado Pickup?
Speed is relative. The impact threshold for the process is based on a transient impact of 5 to 7g, at a crash speed of between 5 to 15 mph. The variance is based on several factors, including angle of impact, its characteristics (meaning a direct, or deflected secondary hit), transient velocity, or other pressure metrics, as established by the on-board airbag system instrumentation.

How do you fix a locked-up electronic door lock on a 92 Ford Taurus?
We have a 92 Ford Aerostar minivan and our sliding door locked up for a year - even ford could not fix it. My dad reset the computer (disconnect the battery for five minutes) and it has worked for almost a year now.
There is a plug under the car that must be removed. It is located on the upper side of the transmission. Fill until lube comes out the hole.
Where can you locate a diagram showing how to put the belt on a 2001 Chevy Tracker?
O'Riley's or Advanced auto should have a diagram. They printed out one for me. I also took a digital picture before removing.
Where is the airbag fuse located on a 96 Geo Tracker?
Hi, I'm showing the air bag fuse to be under the dash to the left of the steering column. If you're removing the dash, there are two other connectors to disconnect. The first is inside the steering column cover, it's a yellow connector inside the inflator module housing the other is behind the glove box, just open it and press the box stop tabs in and the glove box drops forward and the connector is right there on the right. I hope this works for you. Good luck. Steve
How do you reset the check engine light on 2002 Chevy Tracker?
with a scan tool on some cars you can disconnect the battery a few minutes and the computer resets
Upon further invesigation I withdraw my answer (below). Apparently 1996 and newer cars have and OBD2 Computer, which means you have to pay a lot more to get the code. Sorry if I threw anybody off prevously.
[The easiest way I have found is to turn the ignition on and off three times (on, off, on, off, on). When you do this, the check engine light will flash the trouble code (ie. blink-blink-blink..pause..blink-blink = 32). If you have a repair manual, the codes should be listed in there. I have done this with every car I've owned it's way cheaper than spending the money on a scan tool that will tell you the same thing.]

How do you replace the window regulator on a 2001 Chevy Tracker?
I have an 02 Tracker and have had trouble with regulator. It was repaired while under warranty by dealer. I happened again about 2 years ago. When I saw how expensive the part was to fix it I decided to live with it. But my husband simply spayed silicone down into the window opening and it now works great about 90% of the time

The front headlights on your 1999 Subaru Forester goes off sometimes when you use the turn signal?
The problem is caused by the headlight switch in the turn signal lever. The headlight switch loosens over time and causes electrical shorts which make the headlight go out when the switch is jiggled. This happens most commonly when indicating in either direction.
The fix is to replace the turn signal lever. The lever is approximately $100 and can be easily replaced at home.
Unscrew 3 screws on the bottom of the steering wheel column cover. Push the steering wheel height adjustment lever all the way down to remove the cover.
The turn signal lever can then be removed by removing the electrical harness and unscrewing the two screws that secure it to the steering column.
Reverse the process to put in the new turn signal lever.
95 Honda civic 1.6 cranks but wont start?
First check the big three: Air, Fuel, and Spark. Check your timing. This is one of the most common issues with any engine. If you have good fuel pressure, and the timing is correct with good spark (making sure the spark plug wires are on the correct spark plugs), it is most likely a bad sensor. Honda D16 engines are relatively straight forward mechanically and electronically, and are not prone to major problems. If you have recently worked on the engine, back track all of your work, checking everything you moved, adjusted, replaced, etc. If the problem came completely out of the blue, I'm guessing bad sensor. Could be anything from bad crank position sensor, to bad MAP sensor. Since your car is pre OBDII, diagnosing a bad sensor is a little bit harder, and having a local shop look at it will likely be the quickest and cheapest resolution.
How do you replace the locking hubs on a 1996 Chevy Tracker?

Can you turn off the headlights from being on all the time?
Pull on the parking brake until it clicks once. This will shut the lights off, but will not be enough to apply the brakes. The better, safer (more expensive) route to accomplishing this is to order a European Spec headlight switch for your Jetta. They can be bought through on-line autoparts stores and even eBay. The car is wired to run without the DRLs (daytime running lights) on, but because of US safetly regulations, the switch in US spec cars does not have the ability to turn them off. The Euro switch is a direct replacement for the current one, but runs between $100 and $150 depending on where you buy it. But it gives you a lot more control over the lighting situation. You can buy the Euro switches for under $40 on Ebay.
Is it difficult to replace a starter on a 1994 Geo Tracker?
Hi, The starter can be a real pain and a job that is easier left to someone that does this stuff all the time. I'm speaking on recent experience. My starter was flaky and every now and then wouldn't work, so I carried a long metal piece or the lug wrench to hit the starter when it wouldn't work, I'd hit it and have my wife turn the key until it worked. When I bought a used starter and was going to replace it, I could get my fingers on one of the bolts holding it in, the outside one, and could barely touch the in- side one, I had my mechanic do it. He had a tough time getting to the inside one but he had a real bending extension and a mirror. The job took him about an hour and a little bit. It was worth having him do the job, it wasn't easy. I hope this helps and was timely for you. Steve H.
