IF a Vaccume hose comes off OR is bad going 2 the DASH Controls that will happen OR a bad Actuator or Actuator door (stuck) will cause that.Make sure the vaccume Canister is not cracked (if it hs one) Usally it's a very small Vaccume line(hose) that causes the Problem. You either have a vacuum leak in the heater control system, or a cable that has come off of its control panel...

If it has Regular Production option(RPO) code M30 listed on the SPID(in the glovebox) Yes, your vehicle has a 4L60-E Transmission, if it has a MD8 code, then your vehicle has a 700R4, or the non electronic version of the 4L60. This is all assuming the factory transmission is still installed. All S-10's, Corvettes, Camaros, and Full Size Pick Ups had 4L60e transmissions as standard equipment so I would have to assume yes.

I suppose that it would depend on the transmission used. I have a 1992 G30 (slowly falling apart with 251,000 miles on it) with the 4L-80 E Transmission (heavy duty 4 speed electronically controlled auto). There are two speed sensors, both on the left (driver's)side of the transmission. Both have a two-wire connector. The input speed sensor is located towards the front of the tranny, and the vehicle speed sensor is located towards the back. The input speed sensor measures the transmission's input speed (i.e. the rate that the engine is turning the input to the transmission) while the vehicle speed sensor is used for measuring the vehicles speed (i.e. the rate at which the rear wheels are turning). Its signal is also used for the speedometer - there is no speedometer cable going to the speedometer. Mine is currently busted - transmission won't upshift and speedometer reads 0. Replaced the sensor to no avail. Someone suggested that I check the ignition switch, as part of it might be broken. Go to the Library and read about it. Because of the vintage of the van, you would be better off trying to repair the climate controller, than trying to replace it. The only place you will be able to find another one is at a salvage yard. And they will want a heavy sum for it.
