Can one USB output device be connected to two PCs?

Yes you can as there are some wires available. But I dont know what will happen next.

How many Joules of protection do you need in a surge suppressor?

A suppressor is rated in joules, and a suppressor is rated as to the amount of joules it can expend before it no longer can work to protect the circuit from the power surge.

I think you can find the answer to this question in Dehn-usa.com's "Lightning Protection Guide" or their "ABC's of Lightning". I put the link under the related links below.

What is an end device in networking?

The flashing rear-end device, or "FRED," (also called an end-of-train device, ETD or EOT) is an electronic device mounted on the end of North American

What is parity interrupt?

There is no parity interrupt on the 8085 or 8086/8088.

If you mean a memory parity interrupt, that is a function of system design, not a function of the particular microprocessor involved. Generally, a memory parity error is fatal, so one would typically place it on a non-maskable interrupt, such as TRAP on the 8085, or INT 2 (NMI) on the 8086/8088. This assumes, of course, that the memory parity error does not just crash the processor.

How do you merge 2 usbs into 1 I have a usb extension with 2 usb ports But when I plug it in I would rather have it be 1 main USB than two different one?

Technically, you can't merge 2 USBs into one. But usually if you have a double usb extension it can handle only one instead of two. Really, it doesn't matter if it's one main usb or a double. It will still work.

When it comes to processor speed what is the best advice you would give someone?

Get the fastest processor available to them in their price range.

With the cost of dual core CPU's coming down literally on a daily basis, these are what I recommend to all of my customers now.

Then from finding out what they want the PC / CPU to do, be it normal internet, office applications or games etc, then you choose the best CPU for their needs.

IE no need for a quad core 3.0 ghz, CPU for a woman who occasionally uses the net to surf, and does the odd letter..

In this case, id opt for a simple P4, 2.0Ghz onwards etc..

Hope this helps

be safe

How many bytes in a kilobyte?

Short Answer1,000 bytes or 1,024 bytes, depending on the source. Long AnswerGenerally, kilo means multiples of 1,000. However, each bit in a computer can be either on or off, 1 or 0. This means that numbers are represented in base 2, also known as binary, whereas most humans use base 10 (the decimal numbering system). Information about bits is then stored in bits, resulting in a pattern:
  • a byte is typically 8 bits
    • 8 = 2^3 = binary 1,000
  • numbers are typically stored in 32 bits (4 bytes)
    • 32 = 2^5 = binary 100,000
    • 4 = 2^2 = binary 100
  • a kilobyte was originally 1,024 bytes
    • 1024 = 2^10 = binary 10,000,000,000

But the International System of Units (abbreviated SI, from the original French name) defines the "kilo" prefix as multiplying any unit by 1,000. There is a shift within the computer industry toward complying with that definition; the old multiples of 1,024 (as megabyte, gigabyte, etc. are also affected) have been renamed like so:

  • 1 kibibyte = 1024 bytes
  • 1 mebibyte = 1024 kibibytes
  • 1 gibibyte = 1024 mebibytes
  • ...

What is the purpose of installing face plates on empty bays and expansion slots?

One of the main purposes for installing face plates on empty bays and expansion slots is to protect the internal components of the computer from dust and other foreign particles. By sealing off these areas, it helps to keep the inside of the computer clean and free of debris that could potentially cause problems. Additionally, face plates can also help to improve the airflow within the computer case by providing a barrier between the open bay and the rest of the case. This can help to prevent hot air from rising up and causing the computer to overheat.
