A receipt printer is used to print receipts. They are available in many electronics stores, such as Staples, Office Depot, Best Buy Business. Online retailers such as Ebay, Kijiji, and Amazon.

A "stand-alone" printer is one that is connected through the network and which can be used by many people. It isn't (usually) in the cubicle of an individual, and it isn't directly connected via USB to any PC.

Thermal printers, still used in many stores and gas stations use no ink but require special temperature sensative paper that 'burns' when printed on. If you iron a piece of this paper it will all turn black. It is usually very shiny on the printing side and the image may be easilly scratched. The image may fade with time because of the thermal sensitivity of the paper.

It is mechanized and therefore is less time consuming than using tools, and requires less manual labour, therefore being cheaper than, for example repoussé, which uses tools to handcraft a raised pattern.

This could vary from how much you set it up. A printer could go from 50dpi-800dpi. (dpi is dots per inch.) For type setters, 72 points equals one inch.

A plotter is an output peripheral device used with a computer, that can be likened to a printer. However instead of printing text or images, a plotter is more usually used to draw up technical plans and blueprints.

Instead of the print cartridge found in a printer, a plotter commonly uses a pen, although as will become apparent other implements can also be used in place of the pen. If you want to put a mark on a piece of paper with a printer, at a specific point, for example printing off some text, you need to make specific coordinates for where the text will end up on the page. When a printer sets to work, the paper feeds through the printer in a single pass, until the correct place down the length of the paper is found. Then the print head will move across the paper to the correct point and the printing will begin. If a whole page is to be printed, the print head will move across line by line until the text is printed. With a plotter, a similar method of moving the paper and pen holder are used to allow the pen to be in precisely the right point at the right time. However the order of print is different from a printer. The pen does not start at the top right moving to the left and then down a line. The plotter takes the whole image data, then calculates a path for the pen. While the path for the pen may look complicated while the pen is in motion, In fact the plotter has calculated the shortest route for the pen, that involves the least amount of crossed lines as possible. This not only makes the path more efficient, but also ensures there is the least possible chance of the final drawing getting smudged. As said earlier more than just pens can be employed, for example some plotters are used with small knife blades that pivot to follow the path of the plotter. These 'drag knife' cutters are used for such tasks as cutting out vinyl sheet to make custom signs, like the type seen on the sides of vehicles to advertise the details of a company, or tradesman.

The cost of ink is the greatest expense when it comes to using printers. Many printers--especially inkjets--are priced very low, but you may find that replacing the ink cartridges costs as much as the printer itself. In addition, many printers are not built for heavy use over a period of time. You may spend money on new cartridges only to find that your printer has reached the end of its useful life. You can often save by buying ink from alternative sources or by refilling your cartridges. However, many printers will not work with refilled cartridges or with anything other than the brand's own cartridges. Some will work for a while with alternative cartridges or refilled cartridges and then suddenly quit. You want a printer that will meet your needs in terms of quality and amount of use, but will still use ink that is affordable. Error 1053: The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion.

For this error turn off your printer .

Reboot your computer

And then start your printing all over again.

This error is when the printing service crashes.

If you still get the message printer spooler service not running.

Click start > click run > type in services.msc

Find the print spooler service

Double click on it

And click start service .

Then print .

Previously it was the Mimaki JV3 160S. The new Mimaki JV33 is gaining in popularity and may overtake the Designjet in the very near future.

Indoor fine art printing is dominated by the Epson Professional wide format series, but is being challenged by the Canon iPF series printers due to price point and ease of use, as well as the New HP Designjet Z series with improved speed and new wider gamut inksets than previous models.

That depends. Some scanners will have built-in network connectivity, so that any computer on the network can use it. Others will not have this capability, but can be shared through software running on a host computer, which is directly connected to the scanner and networked to other computers.

Image Transfer

All Electrostatic Copiers work under the premis that a charge of electricity is placed on an Image Drum which has the ability to retain the electric charge much like a capacitor holds it's charge but with the ability to hold or release the charge depending on how much light and darkness is applied to the Image Drum. on analog copiers the light and darkness is reflected from the mirrors on the scan area and brought down to the drum surface creating the image that was reflected from the paper that is being scanned. On digital copiers the Image is processed (much like a desktop scanner) by processing the reflected image and converting the image into dots(DPI) then a laser will shoot a light laser image corresponding to the paper that is being scanned onto the Image drum. Image Creation Now that the Image Drum has been hit with light either from the laser or the reflecting light, it will have various charges on its surface (exacting the Image of the scanned original paper) this is called an elecrtostatic latent Image (ESLI) The Image Drum with the ESLI will now be turned till it reaches the developing unit (where toner and developer are mixed to charge the toner (yes toner has the ability to magnetize after mixed with the developer powder) Now, where the drum meets the developer roller is the magical part. Now that the toner is charged with magnetism it will adhire to the Image drum (where the dark electrostatic parts from the Paper Image came down on the Drum) making all the dark parts pull in the toner to the drum and all the light parts do not allow toner to contact the Image Drum, now this Image drum has an image with toner on it (wanna test this ? Stop a copy in the middle of copying, open the copier and pull out the drum, you will see toner on the drum with parts of the image from the original paper ) After the Image on the drum is full of toner It will be turned where the Transfer part is executed Image transfer
Ever put metal fragments on a paper then put a magnet below the paper ? the fragments are attracted to the magnet. This is how the transfer process is done. the drum is turning with the image of toner on it the a paper is positioned below the drum and sinchronized at the same speed with the Image drum, at the point where the paper and the drum meet a high voltage is applied in order to attract the toner off the Image drum and on to the paper, now the paper is full of toner looking like the Image original paper that was scanned. Final sequence now that the Toner is on the paper (looking just like the original) two rollers with heat at about 200 Digrees F press the toner on to the paper making it permanently fused on the paper.

Versamark ink is a clear, thick pigment ink. It is a slow-drying ink that is used in craft projects such as making cards. The ink is available in cube pads or as a pen.

Not sure off the top of my head--but only a few computers have built-in memory stick readers. You'll probably need a third party device that plugs in through USB or something. As for being able to address 8mb,etc, it should be fine
