During the laser printing process what determines when the toner sticks to the drum and when it does not?

Electric charge!

The drum is coated with a photo-conductive layer, whose electrical resistance changes when exposed to light. In the old days this was based on selenium, but nowadays it uses an organic plastic compound.

First the drum is electrically charged using a 'corona wire' - a very fine wire grid at high voltage. Then a laser (or, these days, an LED array) is used to expose the 'white' areas, causing electric charge to leach away in those areas.

Next toner (which is itself tumbled to build up an electric charge) is brushed over the drum, so that it sticks only to the electrically charged ('black') areas on the drum. It's then a simple matter to get the toner off the drum and onto the paper.

Finally the drum is cleaned with a brush and/or wiper blade, and electrically discharged using a 'quench' lamp before the whole process starts again.

Where can i find a Canon IF cable BIFC-50 for BJC-50 printer which I am trying to connect to my eee900pc which has a ubc?

You can find it under the name half-pitched Centronics 36 to Paralled Female, then you need another plug adapter or cable called Paralled to USB, after all that is no garantee that work, because is a vey old printer with very old technologies (Win 95 drivers), another way around is to use the infrared sensor, try to get a irDA USB data transfer the printer is capable of printing without a cable, good luck.

How do you install a Lexmark x3350?

Your printer should have come with an installation disk if it was purchased new, if not you can probably type in Lexmark x3350 in your search bar and navigate to a website that has a free download to install that model. If it is new and you already have the disk turn on your computer/laptop, connect the printer and insert the disk, wait for the hourglass/disk icon to appear on your screen and follow the step by step instructions until installation is complete.

Do printers have memory to print?

Yes, printers have memory built-in, used to store printing data while the printing is in process. Some printer types must compose the entire page in memory prior to the actual printing, others use the memory to buffer some print.

All printers will have such memory, but inexpensive models might be designed with the bare minimum of memory (in order to save cost on the printer).

What is a CAD based knife plotter?

an instrument that cuts a pressure-sensitive design (such as a logo or lettering) from a sheet of perforated vinyl. This vinyl substrate (the material on which the actual sign information is contained) can then be attached to a signboard

What is the electrophotographic drum?

Its the central part of the laser printer. The drum is a metal cylinder that is coated with a light-sensitive insulating material. When a beam of laser light strikes the drum, it becomes a conductor at the point where the light hits it. As the drum rotates, the laser beam draws an electrostatic image upon the drum, called the image. The undeveloped or latent image is passed by a supply of dry ink or toner that is attracted to it. The drum turns and brings this image in contact with the paper, which attracts the toner from the drum. The paper is passed through a fuser that is made up of hot rollers, which melts the toner into the paper.

How do you connect 2 V8 engines together inline?

You would have to have a coupler made to connect one crankshaft to the other. Then you would have to find out at what degrees the crankshafts should be for a smooth operation. Of course, they would still have separate ignition and fuel systems.

You would also have to make sure that engine #2 (whose crank shaft connects to the transmission but sits behind engine #1) is able to handle the torque output of both engines combined.

Which laser printer component protects a fuser from overheating?

A temperature sensor riding on the fuser roller changes resistance affecting current flow from engine control board, through sensor, back to engine control board. Debre buildup under sensor and degredation of sensor will affect normal operation. Thermal fuse only protects from possible fire starting; heating lamp/ceramic strip most always blows first. Over heating usually due to engine control board but in LJ III was due to AC power module stuck, supplying continuous 24 Volts DC to turn on lamp; this lamp always has 120VAC incase you don't unplug printer first.... If fuser heats without blowing... clean sensor within fuser assy with que tip and alcohol or replace fuser if paper being overheated first; then engine control board second.

Which laser printer component converts AC line voltage into the DC voltages the printer can use?

As in all electronics devices that obtain power from the AC electric system, a power supply converts the AC to the DC voltage(s) needed by the electronics in the device. Depending on the needs of the device this power supply may deliver a single DC voltage or as many as several dozen different DC voltages.

What are examples of line printer?

the character-at-a-time printers are too slow; therefore, these users need line-at-a-time printers. Line printers, or line-at-a-time printers, use special mechanism that can print a whole line at once; they can typically print the range of 1,200 to 6,000 lines per minute.
