How do you reset user pin on a garmin Nuvi 360?

If you've lost or forgotten the user PIN for your Garmin nuvi 360, you can still unlock the device by driving to the security location that you've set for that device. When you reach the security location and the device unlocks, you can change the user PIN with the following steps from the Owner's Manual:

  1. Flip up the GPS antenna.
  2. On the Menu Page, touch Settings -> System
  3. Touch the button next to Garmin Lock. Touch OK.
  4. Enter a four-digit PIN. Touch Yes to accept the PIN.
  5. Touch OK. Drive to a security location and touch Set.
  6. Each time you turn on the nuvi, enter the four-digit PIN or drive to the security location (with the antenna up).

Note from the Owner's Manual: If you forget your PIN and your security location, you must send your nuvi to Garmin to get it unlocked.

How do you replace a rubber band in a cassette player?

First take it apart to find the "rubber band" or where it was. Remove the broken pieces of the old band (normally called a drive belt)and install a suitable new rubber band. Actually, sometimes this will work for a while. Replacement drive belts are made of a sturdier material than a rubber band and will last longer with less stretching. Your new rubber band will have to provide enought tension to move the drive wheels but not be too tight as to put undue pressure on those components. Replacement belts are cheap but much too varied for shops to stock very many. Some factory inventory of belts degenerate into rubber blobs or pieces while waiting for a buyer. LOL

When will tv broadcasters start using the 1080 format?

Many of them already are, but even after the digital transmission changeover in Febuary 17, 2009, many can (and probably will) continue to use the old 525 line NTSC format recorded programs, but will have 'line doubled' the picture to be compatible with the digital transmission systems.

What should the actual power in a resistor be?

The question needs some clarification / elaboration. The actual power in a resistor depends on how much electric current passes through it. There are plenty of topical (electronics type) web pages that provide a detailed technical explanation. Try Wikipedia. Or browse the technical section of your local library. A more useful question might be - "What value of resistor power rating should I select for a particular application?". So a secondary question would then be - "What is the application?".

How do batteries maintain a steady flow of charge?

Answer is, they don't! They maintain a steady voltage instead.

If the appliance or electrical device has a constant energy use, then it will draw a constant current from the battery. LEDs behave that way. But if it's a power drill or something similar, then the current will be fairly low when it's free-spinning, but rise to a high value when it's actually drilling.

And... batteries maintain steady voltage because that's how the "surface chemistry" of battery plates operates. We can't change the voltage except by choosing some other type of metal (zinc versus lead versus nickle versus lithium.) That's why zinc/carbon batteries are 1.5 volt, while car battery cells are 2 volt.

How Does Electricity Travel Round A Circuit?

H20 is actually a very poor conductor of electricity. Every day water(such as that you get from a tap ) contains more than h20. There are tons of microscopic impurities which are what actually conducts the electricity

Why does TV cord get hot?

Some very old radio sets and TVs used special high resistance flexible line cords or flexes - often known informally as just "line cords" - which got very warm in normal use because they used the extra resistance in the "hot" or "live" wire to drop the voltage from the normal household voltage down to a lower value.

Line cords were typically used to supply power to US- or Japanese-made sets sold in Europe or other countries where the household voltage is 220-240 Volts. The line cord was a cheap way to drop the supply voltage down to the 110-120 Volts needed by the TV or radio set. <><><> Cords, cables, and conductors get warm due to the electricity that flows through them. Most often, this happens with cords from large appliances. The amount of heat can vary due to airflow, bundling with other wires, etc. If the cable feels any more than slightly warm I would unplug it and refer to a professional electrician. It's not supposed to get really hot, or the conductor size would be bigger. There could be a low voltage condition on that receptacle. This can be caused by loose connections, excessive circuit length, etc. When the voltage is too far below what it should be, appliances suffer. They don't have enough voltage to operate properly. Typical residential voltage is 120 volts. Check for this with an actual readout meter to see what you have. Overall, if the cable is warm, that happens. If it's hot, call an electrician.

What happens to kettle when water boiled?

Hi there when the kettle is boiled the water inside is heated up to boiling point. This is because the coil inside the kettle gets heated by electricity very rapidly and transfers the heat to the water making it boil. The coil some times get a build up of natural chemicals on it such as limescale and therefore has to be cleaned . Now a days we have filter kettles which get rid of the limescale as water is added to the kettle.

Can the vertex vx-150 be modified to extend transmit and receive?

THE ANSWER IS YES. IT CAN BE MODIFIED. THE MOD. IS CALLED A "MARS CAP CONVERSION" THE ONLY THING IS THAT THE BANDS YOU ARE WANTING TO GET TO ARE CONSIDERED COMMERICAL BANDS AND IT IS NOT A LEGAL MOD. IT IS A SIMPLE MOD. THAT CAN BE DONE IN LESS THAN 60 SECS. BUT AS I SAID THE PROBLEM IS IS FINDING SOME ONE THAT WILL DO IT. MOST RADIO SHOPS WILL NOT TOUCH IT. FROM TIME TO TME YOU CAN FIND THE VX150 ON EBAY AND THE SELLER IS WILLING TO DO THE MOD FOR YOU. OTHER THAN THAT GOOD LUCK AND I HOPE I ANSWERED YOUR QUESTION

Function of tachometer?

A tachometer is a gauge that measures mechanical rotation, and typically reads out in "RPM" or revolutions per minute. Such a gauge can be used anywhere where a measurement of speed of rotation is needed, but the most common use is to measure how many times in a minute the crankshaft of your car's engine turns, which would indicate to the car's driver how hard the car's engine is working at any given moment.

I want to use a flat iron on my hair in paris.france what can i buy in usa to take that will work there?

Some flat irons won't work in Europe, even with an adaptor. The voltage is too high, and if your flat iron doesn't have the voltage conversion number listed on it, then you can't use an adaptor. For instance, on some hair dryers it might say 125-250V. That tells you it will convert itself to use less power when you plug it in to an adaptor. But many flat irons only say 120V, and that tells you it will not be able to be used with an adaptor. I would suggest purchasing a new flat iron, one that has the ability to to use less voltage, or buy one with a European plug. That's what I did when I traveled to Italy.

Are there any Hi 8 Sony video players with fire-wire?

There's a discussion about that here:

http://www.videohelp.com/forum/archive/minidv-and-hi8-stand-alone-players-t239171.html

You apparently need to pay around $1000 to get a standalone Hi8 player with firewire, but people were suggesting using newer, cheap hi8 camcorders as transferring devices.

What happens when you call an 0843 telephone number from abroad?

When you are calling inland from the UK if you are abroad there are additional charges and the possibility that the local carrier in the country that you are will not allow the call to go through. Most companies offer an additional 0843 number to use if you are calling from abroad but these are not always easy to find. This where we come in as we can provide these numbers for you if you are abroad. So if you are abroad and need to phone an 0843 telephone number you are in right place to find the correct information on how to call.

Many UK companies use a 0345 number now that in the majority is within most tariff packages as "included" however, if abroad then companies use the +44 followed by the UK normal number

How do you turn off the alarm on your watch?

Depends on the Baby G Model. On my wife's, there is a letter readout above the time (in a separate display really on the watch face) that tells the day of the week in normal watch mode. Push "Mode" (lower left side) until this display reads "AL" which indicates you are in alarm mode. Then use the alarm on/off button (upper right) to turn it off (there is a round circle on the right side of the display that shows when "AL" is on (indicated by a black dot) or off (lack of a black dot.)

Your model number is a three or four digital code (it should be the only one which is in inscribed in an inscribed box. No letters.)

That will get you the manual. Read it! :)

-------Other answer provided by another user--------

OMG! It does not say in the instructions how to turn the alarm on or off but someone answered it on another website: push the 2 buttons on the right at the same time! After my husband and I spent an hour or so, each, this was so funny! It worked! Yay! No more waking up at 4:11 am!

The analogue digital baby g is more difficult to switch off. get to the alarm setting by pressing the mode button (bottom left) Then press the mode and the advance buttons at the same time (the two bottom buttons.) You will see that in the bottom window shaded third of a circle will move from alm (alarm) to sig. if you press it again it will go to dst. I don't know what they stand for but that should solve the problem.

What parts are needed to make an ever-lasting flashlight?

AnswerWow, ID1177301194 put ANSWER in the answer box. Okay, well you should start with getting the materials.

Materials

  • 2 D cell batteries [use alkaline instead of heavy-duty (carbon-zinc) batteries]
  • (2) 5" pieces of number 22 insulated copper bell wire with approximately 1" of insulation stripped off all ends
  • Cardboard tube (toilet tissue or paper towel) cut to 4" in length
  • PR6, or number 222, 3-volt flashlight bulb
  • 2 brass fasteners (brads)
  • 1" x 3" cardboard strip
  • Paper clip
  • Tape
  • Bathroom-size paper cup
Note: You can use C or AA or even AAA batteries. You just need something smaller to hold and contain the batteries and the won't last as long.

Procedures
  1. Push brass fasteners through tube. Attach a paper clip. This clip will be like an on and off switch.
  2. Inside the tube, attach a wire to each brass fastener. Tape batteries together and insert one into each tube, (+) to (-).
  3. Tape one end of wire very securely to bottom of one battery's negative (-) terminal.
  4. Pass other wire end through a hole (large enough to insert light bulb) in center of cardboard strip. Then twist the wire around bulb and insert the bulb into cardboard strip. This strip, when taped to tube, will position bulb for contact to positive (+) terminal.
  5. Use a paper cup as a reflector by inserting bulb through a hole punched in bottom of cup. Tape securely.

HAVE FUN.

DO NOT USE HOUSEHOLD ELECTRICAL CURRENT! IT MIGHT SHOCK AND KILL YOU!!!
