I've never been on a date, and I'm 17. So if you ask me if you've been on a date before that's better then nothing. The best thing to do is not worry about it and wait until you find someone worth dating, even if it takes awhile.

a teacher can like a pupil, we are all human, once pupils his teenage years they become older and slightly more mature.
one, he would give you a little extra attention, but being a teacher, he cant show favratism, so that's quite hard. sometimes he'll speak to you one day and not the next, if you look up you might catch him looking at you. he might do some things for physical contact such as handing you a pencil and touching your hand as he does, or letting his arm brush off yours, sometimes he will speak to you when your walking through the corridors - mainly when you are alone - it would just be a hello, how are you - hes showing you that he takes interest in you. when you talk you either make eye contact fully, or because hes frustrated knowing that nothing can happen between you - he wont look you in the eyes at all, and that's at the times when he's thinking "i hate being stuck in this situation" sometimes you will have small arguments. he might ask you to stay behind sometimes just to talk with you, he'll find something to say. remember that guys are shy at heart - so him being shy and plus hes a teacher its very hard to tell. but these little signs should give you an inkling.
Just because he's a teacher and your a pupil doesnt mean he cant like you, no one can help feelings, they just happen, no matter what age you are, feelings are feelings and you cant control them.
