How do you change crankshaft position sensor on 2003 Jeep Liberty?
I would not recommend changing this yourself. I just tried replacing mine yesterday and the old one broke off inside the block and fell into the oil pan. Now, I either have to remove the front suspension or pull the engine to remove the oil pan. Take it to a dealer, and when it breaks it is their problem. I was able to access this part from under the passenger side of the truck. It is above midway back on the engine block and is slightly hidden behind a frame mount. You will most likely see a wiring harness that enters the engine block at a 90 degree. Unscrew the one screw holding it in and gently wiggle it straight out of the engine block. Mine came out with no issues.
How do you remove door panels on 2001 dodge Durango?
if I remember right there are two big bolts by the handle, one right behind it and one maybe in the arm rest, and some screws on the very bottom of the panel. might be a screw on top some where, but once you get those out, just lift up on the door panel until it clears the frame and pull out a little, disconnect the wiring harness' and it's off. the simplest door panels I've ever come across.
Why would the shifter on the steering column of a Dodge Ram pickup not work?
A couple assumptions: Auto transmission, shifter won't move from park. If this is right the following seems likely.
For some reason the shifter lock is not releasing. Gearshifts remain locked until the driver holds the brake pedal down, then a solenoid releases the gearshift. If the switch or the solenoid are not functioning properly, the gearshift will not release. Check the switch first. It could have come loose or broken. It should be attached to the brake pedal assembly and release the shift when the pedal is down. Adjust the switch so that it releases the gearshift when the pedal is touched. You should be able to hear the solenoid click when the key switch is on and the pedal is touched.
If the lever mover with no resistance, then the linkage has come unhooked.
Is the 1993 Mercury Villager motor an interference motor?
Your Villager is powered by Nissan's 3.0 liter VG30E SOHC engine that made 153 horsepower (the engine is a slightly modified one then found on other Nissan vehicles, one of the requirements of Ford was it be modified to become a non-interference engine, thus if the timing belt breaks, there would be no damage to the valves). Because of manufacturing issues, Nissan had an arrangement for Ford to assemble the minivan in North America, and in turn they were allowed to rebadge it and sell it under the Mercury brand as the Villager. On this engine I am not positive if it is Interference or not. Even Gates lists it as a both on their website. I think it is a non-interferance engine but, to be safe, I would just replace the belt at 60,000 miles. Mine broke after 220,000 miles. (meant to have it replaced but forgot)Had it repaired...runs fine...good for another 100,000. Non-interference engine.
Villager engines are not interference. You can remove the timing belt and turn the engine freely. Nissan models are interference. Even though it's the same engine, the cam timing is different between them.
The blower motor gets its power through a relay, and it is not unheard of for contacts of relays to stick together after they are de-energized. As well the (BCM) Body Control Module receives its blower operation signals via the heater control switches, and it energizes that relay. There are so many might be's. There are so many relays and modules in these newer vehicles that it takes an active mind to keep them separated as to which does what. Since the blower continues to run, and the blower relay contacts have an unswitched electrical connection straight from the fuse box, you might have a sticking relay. The heater relay is in the engine compartment fuse box, near the battery and washer fluid container. Something funny that I have done a few times, is that I thought the heater fan was running, but it was actually the engine cooling fans that were running. They are meant to run as long as the engine heat calls for it, Ignition on or not.
Where is the idle air control valve located on a 2000 Dodge Ram?
A better answer might be provided if you specify the engine. I would expect it to be located in the throttle body, attached by two torx head screws and having a three or four wire connector and being of color black.
It should look vaguely like the lower item in this picture:

or like this:

How many quarts of oil in a 2005 Dodge Durango 4.7 V8?
More than likely it holds 5 quarts with a oil/filter change. To know for sure, park the vehicle on a level surface. Drain the oil and replace the filter. Add 4.5 quarts of oil, and start the engine. Wait a minimum of 1 minute and shut the engine down. Wait 1 hour and check the oil level. Add as necessary, waiting 1 minute between adding oil, and checking the level, to fill it to the full mark. You now know what the oil capacity is.
