The water pump is located in front of the engine behind the timing belt cover. You need to remove the timing belt in order to get to the water pump, i suggests to replace the timing belt as well. This is a difficult job unless if you have done a timing belt replacement before.

Was there a good reason to replace all of those parts? You should start with the simple things first, such as fuel filter. After you check the fule filter it also helped with my jeep to check the transmission fluid. it seems to be on of the most forgotten fluids. If the fluid gets worn out it will feel like its sliping when put under a load. so good luck.

The Durangos with rear heaters do have an auxilary electric pump to pump the water to the rear heater core.

Fred: It happened to my 2000 Saturn too. They said because I didn't change the transmission oil for too long, the transmission is burnt. They asked me to rebuild the transmission, replace it or toll the car to the garbage yard.

The powertrain control module and the electronic control module are two totally different modules. The ECM controls everything that has to do with the engine like fuel injectors,throttle position sensor,cam sensor ect. the powertrain control module controls just transmission related components like fluid pressure switches, TCC solenoid, transfer case switches.

Pull the top interior panel. Just pull it out. Take out the two screws on the lower panel. You will not be able to pull the panel completly off because of four screws you can not get to unless the gate is opened. Pull the panel back enough so that you can see the accuator at the bottom. Unplug both electrical connections. You will see a white plastic tab that Push that tab in towards the fron of the vehicle. You will feel a click. You can then open the door from the outside. Had the same problem. Ended up being the accuator. Remove three screws with a star bbit and replace. 30 minute job. $155. 00 for the assembly. $385.00- $500,00 at the stealership.

You have to remove the trans oil pan to change fluid.

It could be a number of things. Two most common are a clogged heater core and bad thermostat. If you drive on the highway for awhile and you end up with some heat than it's probably the thermostat.
