Dodge Intrepid

Hey make sure the ignition fuse isn't blown. I thought it was the plugs or a boot, because it wouldn't hit at all. Then I checked the fuses under the hood and all that was wrong was the ignition fuse. Good luck.

From distributor cap at rear of engine(round thing with 9 wires coming out. The center one follow it forward to the coil. The other 8 lead to the spark plugs.

In the fuel tank. If there is no access panel in the trunk or under the rear seat, the tank must be removed.

The car will crank, but not run. Usually a mild screech/ low rpm is a key sound before the belt goes out. If the belt is still attached but jumped a mark, the car will usually have a high rpm. Just shut the car off right away, could be an interference engine. If you have a 3.5l non-interference engine's:

1 take off cover

2 try turning engine by hand or check if belt is broke

From my experience on dodge this worked best for me.

The Dodge intrepid will not start after overheating because it blocks the radiator cap.

Whenever any vehicle stalls while driving it should be seen by a mechanic soon. It can be the a issues with the computer, ignition, or fuel.

It is on the passenger side of the bell housing. Tough to see, moderatly hard to replace.

I think your refering to the door in the heater housing that directs air to vents, floor or defroster vents, there is also a blend actuator that mixes heated or cooled air to give the correct temperature from the selector.

you havn't taken it to the mechanic yet.

The LDP (Leak Detection Pump) is located above the fuel tank. You'll have to remove the fuel tank to get to it.

Remove the upper radiator support going fender to fender, and the hood latch. Remove the upper radiator hose. Remove the four bolts securing the radiator fans to the radiator and remove them. Loosen the 15mm nut on each Idler pulley (3.2), or the tensioner holding bolt on just the a/c idler (2.7L), and loosen the jam bolt on the side of the idler to release tension on the belts. Use a breaker bar to release tension on the a/c belt on 2.7 engines. Remove the nut in the center of the drive pulley. Use a 3 jaw puller and remove the pulley. Chrysler 3 jaw puller is best to use. Tap the pulley back on with a hammer until you can get the bolt started. Once the bolt starts, tighten it all the way down to draw the pulley on and torque it to 65 ft lbs. You may need the Chrysler drive pulley holding tool, and puller. Everything else is reverse of removal. Check out dodgeintrepid.net for a ton of info on these cars.

Look on the frame rail underneath the drivers side. One end should have a nut that you can loosen, the other end should have a slip connector that you might have to have a special tool to remove, or sometimes can use a screwdriver to remove. It might spit fuel because it's under some pressure, so cover it with a rag just to be sure it doesn't spew in your eye.

You just have to pull back the trim in the trunk to access the fasteners for the taillight assembly. Once you remove the taillight assembly just replace the bulb.

You have to Remove the Passenger Headlight to get to one side of it and remove the battery terminal and the battery tie down. then there is a section of the wheel well in front of the passenger tire, that has to be removed. I would suggest turning the steering wheel hard to the right and jack up the front of the car to give you self some room to work. once you remove the panel you should have access to the other battery terminal. I also removed the air box above the battery just to give my self some handling room, which just snaps in place. Then you should be able to worm the battery out from the wheel well.

check a parts store, and see if parts for another model have the same number...same part same engine.. also a junk yard professional...call a couple for varied opinions.. also everyone should have a manual for their vehicle, and the local library should have a SHOP manual available in the reference section--make copies of the right info and read up..you'll be a pro in no time ...good luck:)

buy a new one or junkyard drop it in and start it up its got a paper spacer so make sure its there

It could be as simple as a fan relay. Check those first.
