The cam has a mark on the pulley that faces the back of the in the 9 o clock position and crankshaft can be aligned via inspection hole in the bell housing (gearbox) mark on flywheel needs to align with the mark closest front of engine

In most cases, it would be more correct to say that the cars are designed around existing axles, much like they are designed to use existing bearings. There are probably some vehicles for which axles are custom designed, though, and it would still be correct to say that a specific axle will only fit a specific car or cars.

There are 2 fuse boxes in a punto, one below the steering wheel and one in the engine bay. The cigarette lighter fuse is in the one under the steering wheel. To open it there are 2 screws that can be simply unscrewed with a coin, use the grey tool (found clipped to a holder) to take out the 20Amp, yellow fuse (Right most fuse on the second to last row)

Unfortunately the power steering unit is on the way out.

Fiat do not issue torque settings for a punto they use angles so that you can snap your stretch bolts! after contacting fiat and haynes neither of them would give proper torque settings, so i delved into my many tech manuals on fiat fire engines which is what is in your punto and i have successfully changed many fiat punto head gaskets using the following torque settings: stage 1 starting from the centre head bolts tighten to 33nm: stage 2:65nm and finally stage 3: 96nm these torque settings work fine and will probably save you buying new head bolts.

Punto head gasket change is quite an easy job to do. It is almost impossible to give step by step instructions on these pages. The best that I could suggest, is for you to get a Haynes manual for the Punto this will show the exact procedure to follow.

No lights light up and I presume no sounds when you turn the key, I would first check to see if the battery has a charge.

In order to change fuses a person needs to know the location of the fuse box. The fuse box for a 2007 Fiat Punto is under the hood of the car.

First of all you have to take all the air intake system off. I would recommend disconnecting the battery before unplugging any sensors also. You have to pull off the exhaust manifold bolts which are 15 mm. I'm not exactly sure how many bolts there are. I would recommend leaving the intake manifold on and disconnecting the fuel lines instead of trying to unbolt the intake manifold separate....trust me it's easier I've had the head off of my 2.5 about 5 times. You have to disconnect the wires to the coil which are located underneath the intake manifold along with disconnecting some sensors to the throttle body etc...You have to pull the valve cover also which all should be 10mm. After you pull the valve cover off you loosen the rocker arm bolts which are 15 mm just enough to pull them aside and pull the pushrods out. Keep your pushrods in order in which they came out. After that you have to loosen the head bolts which I believe are 18 mm. I'm NoT a hundred percent sure because it's been awhile. I believe that's pretty much it besides taking the radiator hose loose from the thermostat housing on the head itself....

Pretty vague question there. You may just need a new head gasket, or you might need a new cylinder head if you've warped the old one.

Remove clutch piston. Remove circlip on top of axe. Tap gently down on axe then rise up and support from below, use a puller to ditatch the arm. with a small screwdrver or a bit ,from the inside push the top bushin upwards . than you can pull the arm up from the lower bushing than aside and downwards.

it means one of your bulbs have gone for your exterior lights check all of them my back tail light was out and that warning ligh came on.

large fuses under bonnet near battery, the rest ( on rhd ) are behind panel/shelf to right of steering wheel.

Get a code read done, the car has obviously logged a fault. Could be faulty injectors

4 cylinder engines fire on 1-3-4-2.

That's the fuel injector warning lamp. It indicates a possible problem with one of the injectors, or the injector circuit.

it uses from factory fill Selenia K 5w-40 oil.

Alternator may not be charging battery properly Check with a volt meter

With a fully charged battery and engine not running reading should be around 12.8 volts With engine running reads should be 13.8-14.2 volts

Well usually there are screws from the interior, you just need to open them, but be careful there are clips on the inside of it. If there are no screws you should just have to use a screwdriver and try pulling it out from the sides.

Then when that's done you should have got to unplug all the wires from the inside remembering where each one goes, quiet simple. Then you may be able to open the old handle and fit in the new one, sometimes you will need to take out the whole window but if you're lucky you will not need to...

Hi, I have a 1999 Fiat Punto and the airbag warning light was on for years but I never tried to have it fixed as someone told me it would cost a fortune! However I just failed the NCT test because of it so I was forced to have it repaired. I brought it to a guy who is a whiz with car electronics but he had to admit defeat and said I would have to bring it to a main dealer. I did, and they connected it to their diagnostic machine and within ten minutes had it fixed at a cost of 34 Euro. They said it had something to do with disconnecting the battery at one stage and all that was required was a reset.
