The flag of Guatemala features two colors: sky blue and white. The two sky blue stripes represent the fact that Guatemala is a land located between two oceans, the Pacific Ocean and the Atlantic Ocean (Caribbean sea); and the sky over the country (see Guatemala's National Anthem). The white color signifies peace and purity.

After the Spanish were pushed out of Mexico on September 16, 1821; the Mexican Republic assumed reign over all of Spain's land that the country recently was pushed out of. So the Mexicans took over, then Texas seceded and became its own republic. After two years, the Texans became a member of The United States.

Strange though it may seem, there is no special meaning attached to the New South Wales flag, which includes the Union Jack and the NSW badge. When the design was originally submitted to London for approval, no meaning of the design was given.

The standard British Territory flag (the Union Jack in the top left and blue colour on the rest) takes up the majority of the flag. In the crest there are various symbols. (working from top to bottom) The pineapple represents the past links with Jamaica (until Jamaica declared independece from the UK the Cayman Islands and Jamaica were governed as a single nation). The palm leaf represents the Silver Thatch Palm which is the national tree and associated with the rope symbol (read on). The turtle represents the rich heritage associated with the turtle harvesting (now highly protected and actually farmed on the islands as well as reintroduced to the seas) as well as the original name (Las Tortugas - Spanish for The Turtles) given to the islands by Christopher Columbus in the early 1500s when he discovered them. The rope represents the islands rich nautical heritage and rope making customs. The lion represents the link with England/UK. The 3 stars on the waves represents the 3 major islands that make up the Cayman Islands (Grand Cayman, Cayman Brac and Little Cayman). He Hath Founded It Upon The Seas is a Bible quote and makes reference to the local religion (Christianity) as well as note on the islands founding themselves from the sea.
