Savannah food chain?

In a savannah food chain, the primary producers are grasses and other plants, which are then consumed by herbivores such as zebras and antelope. These herbivores are in turn hunted by predators like lions and cheetahs. Decomposers like fungi and bacteria play a crucial role in breaking down dead plant and animal matter, returning nutrients to the soil for new growth.

What does the word organism mean when talking about food chains?

When talking about food chains, an organism is considered to be anything from a plant which is an autotroph to a predator always a carnivore and it is called a heterotroph. A heterotroph is anything that does not produce its own food. Plants and trees, as well as flowers and cactuses make their own food without eating anything else. Instead, they go through a process called photosynthesis which requires a lot of carbon dioxide and water so they can make their own food. The scientific formula for this is CO2+H2O. When plants are done with photosynthesis, they go through another process called celluar respiration, which releases oxygen into our atmosphere for us to breathe. The scientific formula for this is CO2+H2O=C6+H12+O6+O2.

What is an aquatic food web?

An aquatic food web is a food web that involves marine life.

Why an island food web could be considered a closed system?

An island food web could be considered a closed system because it has limited resources and energy inputs from outside sources. The energy and nutrients within the system cycle among the organisms on the island without much influence from outside factors, leading to a more self-contained ecosystem. This closed system characteristic can make island ecosystems more vulnerable to disruptions.

Are predators always bigger than their prey?

The predator doesn't have to be bigger, but it must be adadpted to kill its larger prey

Is matter and energy conserved in a food web?

Matter and total energy are ALWAYS conserved. However, in a food web, you will often consider the USABLE energy; this gets reduced at each step of the food web.

Where in the food chain is the lesothosaurus?

Lesothosaurus, which I think has been renamed, was essentially lunch for small theropods like Megapnosaurus and Coelophysis. It was a small herbivore, eating leaves, and maybe the occasional insect.

What is the Eastern Oyster Food Chain?

hey there ma names pratham and i like nikita and i think that she is very nice :) OMG wth, your such a retard : ) i think nikita is very nice also HEYHEYHEY! well my its nikita i think all of you people are very nice and you people complete my food chain :)

NAWWWW, we complete her food chain. were all eastern oyster's :D anyways, ill answer your question.

Oysters are filter-feeders. They suck in water and filter out the plankton and detritus to swallow. Then they spit the water back out. (Detritus is dead plant and animal matter.) They also accidentally filter out and collect any poisons that might be in the water. This cleans the water, but is not so good for the oysters. Because these poisons are more likely to be in coastal waters in the summer months, it is usually not safe to eat oysters in the summer time. Oysters have gills and get their oxygen from the water.

What would happen if you did not have a food chain?

Everything would have to be a producer (autotroph) because nothing could eat anything else. Also nothing would be broken down because there are no decomposers so when organisms died they would just pile up on land. The nutrients would never get returned to the soil and the soil would a. be burried so deep it would be difficult to access and b. not have the nutrients needed to survive.

Is poop edible?

Well, unfortunately, yes. But it depends on what type of animal you happen to be. Flies LOVE poop. Persons unencumbered by a conscious have been known to mix feces with dog food, confident in the knowledge that dogs only digest 40% of their intake. Personally, I wouldn't feed feces to a dog. But that's just me. Others may differ or dither as they prefer.it is edible but if i were you dont eat or you will get really sick or die!!!!!
