How do I replace a 2004 Alero headlamp?

after the hood is up, three inches from the front of the headlight assembly observe the two upside-down "L" shaped tabs on either end of the assembly. they are about one inch wide. push them back and up. this might take a little extra effort if no one has ever done it. once both tabs are up, wiggle the entire assembly forward. undo the wire (i guess it's the bright light wire) that is keeping you from pulling the assembly out as far as possible. looking at the back of the assembly, you will see a two inch wide rubber cap. this pulls right off, exposing the bulb. twist the bulb out, and replace. i hope this helps someone...

How do you replace the headlamps on a 2004 Ford Escape?

Changing the headlights of a Ford EscapeChanging the headlights is simple enough, even a girl is going to answer this queston ;)

First, with the keys NOT in the ignition, POP THE HOOD, and prop it up on the rod.

Right where the headlight is, on the inside of the engine compartment (you just look on the inner side of the headlight, an obvious and easy place to locate) you will see a rubber cap with a plug going through the center of it. Remove the plug by simply squeezing the sides, lenghtwise, gently and sliding it straight off. Once it is off, you remove the rubber cap completely, simple to do because its kinda fitted but loose enough to just peel off.

Now, here is where the only tricky part is; MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE CORRECT BULBS!! 9003xvbp There is a spring-type clamp that holds the bulb in, which you will need to squeeze together and push down to get them out from under the little hooks that hold the whole thing in place. once you have that part free, you will feel the bulb loosened up and able to be pulled directly out. Replace with new bulb, which fits back in just like a puzzle piece as the last one did and reclamp the hooks, put the rubber cap back on and plug in.

You can remove the whole assembly in you need to. If you are unlucky enough to have to replace the corner lamp, or have a great deal of trouble working on the headlamps in the amount of space you have under the hood, you can remove (2)-10mm bolts that hold the top of the bumper/grill assembly on. then go to the wheel wells, and turn the tire att the way to one direction and remove the (3) plastic, Phillips centered clips in the front of each wheel well. With just those (8) things removed, you can pull the bumper awat enough to remove the (2) hidden 10mm bolts holding in the bottom of the headlamp.

If your lights are wet inside, I'd leave them out in the sun for a day, apply silicone around the factory seaed area and it wouldn't hurt to silicone- moderately- the new headlamp bulb after you put it back in.

How do you remove the rotor on a 1999 ford ranger 4x4 I got everything off and it will not budge. Ford book no help it doesn't show this type of 4x4 front axle and rotor asembly?

try to look on the back inside of the rotor (right where the shaft goes in) and there should be a seal pressed against it. Pry that seal off and you should be able to pull the rotor straight off. If not, make sure that seal is removed and beat and pry the rotor until it comes off. If you have to do this, it is usually means you have a bad inner bearing. The bearing will need to be replaced. Pull it off the shaft with a three jaw puller.

How do you get the oil light to turn off on a 2003 Ford Escape?

Find out why it is on. The oil light being on may indicate low oil pressure. It may be nothing more than a bad oil pressure sending unit, but it may be more serious. You need to know why it is on. Check your oil level, and if it is full, I would look at the oil pressure sending unit and see if it is connected or leaking. If all looks good seek professional help.

How do I install negative battery cable for 2000 Ford escape do I have to go to the starter or can I just attach it to the frame or engine block?

The negative cable almost always goes to the engine block then it has a strap that grounds the block to the frame and body. There could be several of these "straps" or wires. They usually look like a braided metal rope except flattened out. I hope this helps you.

Ford escape transmission?

Depends on the year. In 2009, the Ford company decided to switch the Ford Escape to a 6 speed transmission, that was a mistake. The vehicle is to heavy for it. Some costumers are going back to the dealerships saying that they are hearing a "hoot" sound. Im only 12, but I have gone through ALOT of car buying. One car that we were considering was the 2009 escape. We didn't get it because we heard that sound, and found out that had to do with the transmission. Some people have had to get a new transmission within 3 months after getting a brand new Ford Escape. So, bottom line, DO NOT GET ONE!!!
