Why dont rear door locks uplock when you pull the handle?
Many vehicles have a 'child safety lock' in the back seat that prevents young children from opening the doors. Check your owner's manual. Some have a physical latch to turn to disengage. Others have a menu setting in the electronics that can be programmed.
If they open from outside and not inside the child locks are probably on. open the door and look around the lock .

The popularity of front wheel drive cars in the 1980s and all season tires mostly eliminated the sale and use of tire chains. By the 90s the popularity of SUVs, all wheel drive, and electronic computer managed traction control almost completely eliminated the need for tire chains.
The Ford Freestyle with all wheel drive is a pretty capable car in the snow, and if conditions are bad enough that you cant get around, it may be time to stay home. Tires with more aggressive tread then the tires Ford provided might be a consideration. Otherwise, read your owners manual for recommendations regarding the use of chains. It may simply say you should never use chains, give you some basic pointers, or not address the topic. Assume that if the topic is not addressed, that Ford probably hasnt recommended the use of tire chains since the death of the Country Squire wagon in the late 1980s.

How do you replace the heated seat elements in a 2005 ford freestyle?
You have to take the seat apart. Remove it from the vehicles (unplug all connections), unbolt it from the floor. remove the Upholstery from the seat- it is held on by small metal rings that you will destroy when removing. You will see the heater element and can buy a replacement or solder the broken section (not suggested as it must stay flexible. The constant flexing is why they break and why the srivers seat is usally the one that goes. This is a major effort and you can have an autotrim place do it ( it takes a special crimping tool to put the rings that hold the cover to the frame in) or buy a 20 dollar heated seat pad from many places
