Locate and press the tab or button where the wiper blade is inserted into the hook of the wiper arm and pull wiper blade out of hook. You may have to rotate and flex the blade to make enough clearance for the hook to pass through.

There are a few symptoms of a blown head gasket. The first one is loss of coolant. Coolant can be lost from the leak in the gasket into the cylinder. From there it can go past the piston rings and into the crankcase or it can be forced out of the exhaust system by the action of the piston coming up on the exhaust stroke.

If the coolant enters the crankcase it mixes with engine oil. Of course oil and water don't mix very well but the presence of ethylene glycol (anti freeze) and the agitation caused by the crankshaft and other moving parts can whip the mixture of coolant and oil into a milkshake.

If the coolant is forced out of the exhaust system it is usually heated by the hot exhaust manifold and the rest of the exhaust system. This results in a sweet smelling steam emanating from the tailpipe. The steam is rather persistent, that is it will hover in the air and not dissipate like the normal steam that comes from the combustion process.

Testing an automobile engine for a blown head gasket is pretty straightforward. The first check is to see if there are combustion gasses getting into the cooling system. Take a sample of the coolant and go to the local radiator shop and request that they analyze the coolant for the presence of hydrocarbons. If they are present then it is most likely that you have a blown head gasket.

Another check is to look at the oil of a warmed up engine. The antifreeze in the oil will whip it up into a frothy brown mixture that looks like a milk shake. If it looks like chocolate mousse then you probably have a blown head gasket.

Another check is to fill the cooling system to the brim and remove the radiator cap. Do this when the engine is cool. Start the engine and race it. If there is a compression leak and the gasses are going into the cooling jacket then the gasses will displace the coolant. Since the cap is off the coolant will be pushed out of the radiator. You probably have a blown head gasket.

One of the best ways to check is to hook up a compression tester, "this is a simple pressure gauge that screws in where your spark plugs go, you have to do each cylinder one at a time, remove a spark plug and screw in the tester, then crank the engine or start it and observe the reading on the gauge, compare this reading to the factory specifications wich can be found in the chiltons or alike book for your vehichle they can also be found online. If your reading is lower than the factory specs you most likely have a blown head gasket, and testing in this manner will also tell you wich cylinder. Although for repair one gasket usually covers 3-4 cylinders or one head.

Some 1990s had a fusible link. I am not aware of any with a fuse. The fusible link is between the alternator and the battery, connected with heavy wire. Kind of easy to miss. http://www.marksatterfield.com

The water pump (Just like a heart)pushes the water/antifreeze through the engine block, and through the radiator where the fins in the radiator absorb some of the heat, and the air passing through the radiator cools the fluid down to be pumped back into the engine block, keeping the engine cool enough to drive.

In my case the Anti-lock Brake System light came on and the first ABS fuse

that I checked was not installed all the way . I touched the fuse with my

finger , heard a " click noise " and the ABS light went out . Just lucky I

guess but also suspicious of how that could have happened .

So , it could be a fuse , a sensor , or some other problem

A constant engine knock can be diagnosed as several minor/major issues.

If you do not feel comfortable tackling such an issue. It would be a good idea to let an experienced mechanic listen to your engine. Most that call themselves mechanics will be able to pin it just by ear.. Hope this helps you.

If you don't see one then it more than likely does not have one, as very few transmissions do. Pan must be removed. Remove the Pan, drain the fluid, replace the transmission filter. Clean the pan completely, make sure to clean the magnet really good and replace it and it help keep metal shaving away from the moving parts and even helps keep the filter clean longer. clean the area on both the Transmission and Pan where the replacement gasket goes. Use just enough gasket glue to prevent leaks.

Be it front or back, the unit as a whole, strut, spring, mount, is removed and the spring must then be compressed to replace the mount, then the spring is let out, then the assembly can be reinstalled.

I had the same thing happen to my 1997 bird my door sensors needed to be adjusted because they didnt get all the way pressed down when the door shut

When this happened to my 1989 Tbird, it was because the automatic seat belts were not working and they were stuck on the "on" position. This was fixed by disconnecting the wires to the automatic seat belt and just sort of pulling it on and off. We were lucky that it wasn't stuck in the "off" position or the belt would have been unsafe. you.

i pulled the chime out from behind the glovebox , mine did the same thing .

I had a 1994 Thunderbird LX with the same problem. The ignition was replaced and that stopped the chiming.
