How do you pop the hood of a 1997 Ford Thunderbird see one latch on the left but it wont come up getting pissed?

After you pull the inside hood release , go around to the front of the Thunderbird

There is a 2nd lever under the front edge of the hood , at the center , push on the

right side of the lever as you are slightly pressing down on the hood so the catch

releases and then lift the hood until the supports hold it open

How do you remove the pivot bolts to replace the front upper control arm on a 94 Ford Thunderbird?

The passenger side is the hardest. you need to move the A/C receiver dryer. To do this ther are 2 two bolts holding the bracket to the fire wall remove these then loosen the srew around the receiver so it is loose. You can now lift the receiver upwards , then you will have the clearence to put a socket on the nut and loosen it. I used a air wrench no problem.

the driver side I used an ratched wrench to get the nut. the powerbrake booster is close but you can get a wrench in there. Also I found it helpfull to use a air chisel to separate the knuckel to pull the ball joint out.

What is the transmission fluid capacity in a 1998 Ford Taurus?

That could vary, depending on whether it has a AX4N or AX4S transmission.

AX4S - Synchronous Example 1: Cruising at 25mph (3rd gear), you floor it, it downshifts to 2nd gear briefly, then into 1st. Example 2: Full throttle acceleration from a stoplight to 35mph or so, then let off the gas. The transaxle will up-shift to 2nd gear very briefly, then finally into 3rd gear where it needs to be. In other words, it has to shift in order 1-2-3-4 and 4-3-2-1 AX4N - Non-Synchronous Example 1: Cruising at 25mph (3rd gear), you floor it, it skips second and downshifts directly to first. Example 2: Full throttle acceleration from a stoplight to 35mph or so, then let off the gas. The transaxle will upshift directly to 3rd gear, skipping second. In other words it can shift how ever it wants 1-3, 3-1, 2-4, 4-2, etc.. The AX4N is a more efficient transaxle. The ability to skip un-needed gears helps reduce wear and tear. Mechanically, the AX4S and AX4N are very similar, but hydraulically, they are not.

The AX4S capacity is 13.5 quarts, the AX4N capacity is 12.5 quarts.

How do you test temp gauge 88 t-bird 3.8?

Look by the thermostat housing you will see a single wire with a "L" plug.

unplug the wire which is plugged in to the water sensor for the temp gauge.

Ground the wire to the engine block, turn the ignition key to on but do not start engine

look at the temp gauge it should read all the way to the right (in the red).

If you see this then the gauge is working and the sending unit is bad. If the gauge does not respond check the instrument panel fuse, if the fuse is good the gauge is bad..

What happens when you put gas into a running car?

You will be able to watch the gas gauge go up. I do it all the time even though theres signs that say not too, its fine.

I also allow the engine to run while re fueling. I avoid shutting my car off when I am going to start it again in a few minutes regardless. One engine start causes more wear than hundreds of miles of running, and keeps the battery charged, and each start causes more battery wear. batteries are only good for so many starts, the heavy load imposed on them. BUT NEVER NEVER EVER leave engine running with children in car ..ever , no way no how
