There is a story that dates back to the days of building the castle. The young king ordered that a castle has to be built at that spot. The builders were not given proper tools to do measurements. The young king said it has to be at least 200 feet tall. But the builders did not know how long the king's feet was. Therefore they went back to the site where the king had stood earlier and measured the length of the footprint and used that as the measuring stick. Now after the castle was built the king was unhappy. He asked his minister to measure the height of the castle which stood at less than 200 feet. Little did they know that the kings feet had grown in the 10 years it took to finish the castle. The king ordered the builders to be brought to justice. The builders were beheaded in front of the castle and their heads rolled down the steep hill side. Ludwig then made a proclamation that anybody who asks for the height of the castle or tries to measure it have to be broght to justice by beheading them in front of the castle. i dont agree. I am doing a research project on this topic so i know a lot of stuff that you dont know. Hahahahah suckers.
