Why is limestone used for making glass?
because its a cheap and there is plenty of limestone
Answer:
Limestone is one of the primary components of glass. When limestone (calcium carbonate CaCO3) and lime (CaOH)is heated with silica sand (SiO2) it makes a fluid solution not crystallize when it is cooled. This material is glass.
There are few things that are perfectly black. You can see many things, with detail, that are colored black. Obviously whatever you see is reflected light, light not being absorbed by the object. The reflection you see from the blackened glass is probably light coming off the glass itself, which remains uncolored, if you think about it. The color cuts down on interference from objects that would otherwise show through the glass. It is not absorbing all light. The reflected images are light it is reflecting back. When it looks black however it is not reflecting light into your eyes.
Can turpentine be used to clean glass?
No, turpentine is not recommended for cleaning glass. It is a solvent that can leave behind residue and streaks on glass surfaces. It is better to use a glass cleaner specifically designed for cleaning glass to ensure streak-free results.
One form of magnetic glass is a painted glass that is laminated to steel. This gives the glass a magnetic white board effect. Because any magnet used must be strong enough to reach the steel through the glass this generally only works with strong magnets like rare earth magnets.
A great resource for magnetic glass writeboards is HighTower Group:

How does glass help you see things from a distance?
'Seeing things' depends on light rays from an object falling on one focal point a certain distance behind your corneas, the focal length. The inability for the naked eye to see things from a distance is due to the corneas' inability to converge all the light rays at the focal point, hence the fuzzy image. Glass from being able to form a convex or concave shape, can easily focus an image to your focal point
How do you fix plastic eye glass frames when warp?
Depending on the style of the frame it is possible to *gently* heat the frames and "re-bend" them to the appropriate form. Optical labs use this method when inserting the lenses into the frames. The heat makes the plastic flexible. In optical labs they have "sand baths" or small heated containers of either sand or very fine glass beads that they use to heat the frames.
As to heating the frames at home, I would suggest hot, but *not boiling*, water. Soak the frames in the hot water for 10 minutes and then *gently* attempt to return the frame to its original position. You will have to hold the frame in that position until the plastic has cooled in order for it to retain the form.
What lab equipment protects your eyes?
Eye protection is used in a laboratory, as else where, to protect your eyes and prevent them from being injured in an accident. The kind of eye protection used depends on the activities being performed in the lab, the kinds of materials being used, and the nature of potential hazards.
Would a real narcissist tell you that you could do better than to be with them?
Narcissists continually test their companions/mates/spouses - "If she knows my true character will she abandon me"? It would be a mistake to attribute this kind of behavior to altruistic motives. From my experience with an N, they would never say that anyone is better than them. It is probably just a trick to get supply out of you, make you feel sorry for him, because believe me, they don't think anyone is better than them. Yes, to manipulate you.
How can you tell if an antique is real?
Determing the condition (or grade) of a coin requires three things: Experience, References and being able to visually inspect the item. Some would argue that visual inspection is not necessary and can be accomplished utilizing photographs. Unfortunately, lighting plays a key factor in hiding/exposing flaws on a coin depending on the reflection and angle. There are many references available, both on the Internet and printed media, to assist in the grading of coins. Simply use any search engine, type the words "Coin Grading" and you will have a host of links to choose from. A good printed source is "The Official American Numismatic Association Grading Standards for United States Coins". This book has reference pictures, as well as, descriptions for each coin in each grade. Whichever resource you choose, ensure that they follow the grading guidelines established by the American Numismatic Association (ANA). Last, but probably most importantly, experience is the key in assigning a grade to a coin. Novice collectors, with some practice, can become quite accurate in determining grades for circulated coins (G-4 through AU-50). It becomes much more difficult when assigning grades for Uncirculated coins (MS-60 through MS-70) or Proof coins (PF-60 through PF-70) and the assistance of an experienced coin collector or trusted coin dealer should be sought. Another option that is available is to have the coin graded by a third-party grading service. For a fee, the grading service will grade the coin, place it in a protective case with it's identifying information and then sonically seal the case to preserve the coin. There are many services to choose from, some reputable and some not. Seek the assistance of a knowledgable collector or dealer in determing a service to use.

Some people cannot see clearly so they need the help of glasses so they can see. Some people are long sighted which means they cannot see things up close when reading but they can see things far away. Some people are short sighted which means they cannot see things faraway but can see things close up. However people can be short sighted and long sighted.
Also, many people think people start getting blurry vision in far sight is because they watch too much TV, or play too much video games. But the truth is, that has nothing to do with it. What's really happening is that as people get older from their early ages to adulthood, their eyes will always change. So if your a person that wears glasses, don't think bad of yourself for wearing them, it's just what people go through in life.
How can you calculate the focal length of a lens?
A very simple method to calculate the focal length of a lense is to focus it front of the sun and find out a sharp, small point at ground and you have to calculate the distance between that point and lense.... However this gives you approximate result not very accurate resut... For accurate result you have to go in to physics lab and work with optical bench... Thanks

In paintball can they hand out masks that are made for people who wear glasses?

Lack of a social life if watched too frequently perhaps, and maybe even eye strain if not viewed from an appropriate distance.
Why would you need night vision glasses?
The pupil dilates in low light conditions to allow more light onto the retina. This will, in many people, result in more near-sighted vision at night than during the day.
If you normally do not wear glasses or have progressed to the point of needing bifocal, trifocal, or progressive lenses (presbyopia) you may need a different prescription to fully correct your vision in low-light environments.
Naturally, to see objects up close, the lens in your eye protrudes more to focus on close objects or writing. The process of focusing on close objects is called accommodation. When a person gets older, often around age 40, the eyes begin to lose their ability to focus on close objects. That condition is called presbyopia (from Latin, literally meaning "old eyes"). Anyway, the retina is the part of the eye that sends the image to the brain. The problem here is that light focuses behind the retina rather than on it.
Lenses to correct presbyopia and hyperopia (farsightedness) are convex lenses, meaning the lenses are the thickest in the center. They cause light to converge, meaning they cause light waves to bend closer together. So the eyeglasses adds enough power to the natural lens so when you look at things close up, the light rays converge into a point sooner, thus focusing directly on the retina.
Bifocals are used for distance seeing or at close up seeing.
Why do people make fun of people with glasses?
Because they are immature and/or ignorant. If someone judges you on how you look, ignore them.

Is it bad for your eyes to read a book while lying down?
Any damage to your eyesight depends on the light you have and the distance you are holding the book, not your position in bed. The reading as far as it is calming and not an upsetting subject, is what helps to fall asleep, not the position.
