What is the resultant temperature when 2kg of water at 30degrees is mixed with 4kg of water at 90degrees?

there is no phase change and same liquid we can use this formula

Tf =((Va*Ta)+(Vb*Tb))/(Va*Vb)

Tf = Resultant temperature

Va= Volume of tank A

Ta= Temperature of tank A

Vb= Volume of tank B

Tb= Temperature of tank b

Can a sea snail live in a fish bowl of rooting house plants?

No, sea snails are marine animals and need a saltwater environment to survive. Placing a sea snail in a fishbowl with house plants in freshwater would not provide the necessary conditions for its well-being. It is important to provide proper habitat and care for sea snails to ensure their health and longevity.

Does osmosis occur when you swim in the sea?

Yes, osmosis occurs when you swim in the sea. The salt concentration in the seawater is higher than the salt concentration in your body's cells, so water will naturally move from your cells into the seawater through osmosis. This can lead to dehydration if you don't drink enough water to replace the lost fluid.

Can fish suffocate in plastic bags with water?

Yes. It's just like you or me being locked in a sealed room. Eventually there will be nothing for the fish to breathe to keep it alive. For example many fish during the winter months "die off" due to the surface freezing over in ponds with out fresh water being brought in by streams or rivers.

What is the difference between ectothermic and exothermic r fish ectothermic or exothermic?

Ectothermic means the same thing as "cold-blooded." It means that the animals body does not produce its own heat internally so the animal's temperature varies with its surroundings.

Endothermic means the same thing as "warm-blooded." It means that the animals body regulates its temperature internally by producing heat and keeping the body temperature relatively stable.

Exothermic does not relate to animals at all. It is a term used in chemistry to describe certain types of chemical reactions.

Fish are ectothermic as most living things that are not birds or mammals are.

Does water changes temperature slowly?

Yes, water has a high specific heat capacity, which means it can absorb and release heat slowly. This makes water temperature changes relatively gradual compared to other substances.

In order to produce a male offspring an egg must be fertilized by a sperm carrying a?

Y chromosome. When a sperm with a Y chromosome fertilizes an egg, the resulting offspring is male. On the other hand, if a sperm with an X chromosome fertilizes the egg, the offspring will be female.

What is the kingdom of goldfish?

What will happen if a Goldfish is kept in a dark place?

Goldfish usually react positively to having a light source, however it is unhealthy to leave your fish tank illuminated constantly and the light also encourages algae to grow rapidly. Eight to twelve hours a day is sufficient for a happy goldfish.

How do you get rid of the fungus on your goldfish's scales?

If your fish has fungus something must have caused it. These things do not "just happen". The usual cause is putrid water. First lets treat the fungus. You will need 2 clean buckets. Fill them both with clean water of the same temperature as the fishes tank. Dissolve 1 dessertspoonfull of cooking/sea salt per gallon in one bucket and add the fish to the salty water. If the fish show signs of distress put the fish in the other none salted bucket and weaken the solution by pouring some of the salty water away and replacing it with clean then place the fish back in the salted water again. While the fish is in the salty water you can remove most of the water from the tank and replace it with clean water of the same temperature and add 1 teaspoonfull of salt per gallon of water. Check the filter out and either clean or replace at least 80% of the filter medium. After about 1 hour in the salty water the fish can be placed back in the tank. If you do this treatment and water change procedure daily for a week or so the fish may well recover fully. Then stick to the basic rules of "1 inch of fish needs a minimum of 1 gallon of water". "Every tank containing aquatic life needs a cycled filter". and last but not least "every tank containing life needs to have at least 50% of its water changed weekly".

Do magnets effect goldfish?

I am not aware of magnets having any effect on goldfish. Maybe a large electro magnet created by passing windings around a tank then applying current through the winding could have an effect but a simple magnet placed on or into a fish tank should have no effect on the fish whatsoever.

How was the breathing rate of the goldfish changed when the water was warmed?

It will slow down Because the fish will able to relax and calm down in cooler water. It will be able to slow down the process of breathing. there is more air to breathe in cooler water so the fish will take longer breathes. me and my frineds did an activity about that and the answer is that it actually increases by a little

Is salmon a freshwater fish?

Can two comets live in a five gallon tank?

No. Goldfish cannot live in a five gallon tank at all, they are very messy and potentially large fish that require an absolute minimum of 20 gallons. For a 5 gallon coldwater tank, paradise fish or white cloud mountain minnows would be attractive choices. For a tropical tank there are a lot of small species suitable for a nano tank, and you could consider the ever-popular betta, or some tetras or dwarf rainbowfish.

Do goldfish have feelings?

Goldfish have a more basic range of emotions compared to humans, but they can experience stress, fear, and happiness. They may show behaviors such as seeking food, exploring their environment, or interacting with other fish as a way of expressing these emotions. However, their emotional capacity is not the same as that of more complex animals.

When measuring length of goldfish to place in an aquarium do you include tail length or just body?

When measuring the length of a goldfish for an aquarium, it is common practice to measure from the tip of the fish's nose to the base of the tail fin, excluding the tail length. This measurement is known as the "standard length" and is used to determine appropriate tank size based on the fish's body length.

Why is your oranda changing from red into black?

Color change is normal in goldfish they often will change colors multiple times in their life. However, if the black is streaky and brownish, or if the color change is mainly at the lips and edges of the fins, that means the ammonia in the tank has reached a dangerous level and is actually burning your fish. Just to be on the safe side, test the ammonia level in you tank.

Are goldfish chemicals are really necessary or they an unneeded expense?

Fish produce ammonia and fish waste. Ammonia is toxic to all fish and will cause the fish to die if left untreated and frequent water changes are not performed. It does matter how big of a tank that your goldfish is in. For example the bigger the tank the longer it takes for toxic levels of ammonia to rise. If you plan to keep this fish longer than a week or two. It would be good to do a little research on it. I recommend a 5 gallon tank with a filter. Petsmart and Walmart sells 5 gal. Starter kits that make it pretty easy as well.

What plants do goldfish eat?

Goldfish primarily feed on a diet that consists of plants such as duckweed, water lettuce, water hyacinth, and elodea. They also enjoy vegetables like peas, zucchini, and lettuce. It is important to provide a varied diet to ensure they receive all the necessary nutrients for their health.

Can goldfish and angelfish live together in the same tank?

Technically , both require different environments. Goldfish likes cold water and angelfish likes tropical. However, goldfish can survive in warm water so both can be kept, leaving one of them unhappy.

Can you prune your goldfish plant?

Yes, you can prune your goldfish plant to promote new growth and maintain its shape. Trim back any leggy or overgrown stems using clean, sharp scissors or pruning shears. Pruning should be done in spring or early summer for best results.

Why does cold water affect goldfish respiration?

Cold water affects goldfish respiration because it lowers their metabolic rate, leading to decreased oxygen consumption. This reduction in metabolic activity slows down their respiration rate as they require less oxygen to sustain their body functions in cold water. Additionally, cold water can hold more dissolved oxygen, making it easier for goldfish to extract oxygen from the water, further contributing to their decreased respiration rate.
