Your 88 Honda accord idles real high and gets stuck What could the problem be and is this common?

I have the same problem with my 89. I've been doing research and it seems to deal with a frequency soledoid. in my case, a solinoid near the battery "C". They seem to be discontinued so a hunt in the pick n pull needs to happen. I don't know why or how it happened or if it's the whole problem but it's been a real hassle for me to figure out.

How do you change the transmission fluid on a 2002 Honda Accord?

I own a 2000 Honda Accord and this is how you do it on that model. Drive you car up on ramps, be sure the chuck the back tire so the car does not roll. When under car look to your right, right behind the front passanger side tire. There you should see the transmission. There is no transmission pan on this car and also no filter. There is a round bolt that faces toward the passenger front tire. This is the transmission bolt. You can also identify the bolt because it is painted light blue. This round bolt can only be removed by taking a standard size rachet (WITHOUT A BIT) and fitting it into the the bolt. There is square hole in this bolt, designed to fit a rachet in without using a bit. You can not put a bit around the bolt because it is completely round. Anyway enough about the bolt. Remove bolt and about 3 quarts of transmission fluid will be drained. The drain bolt is magnetic and will have to be cleaned of metal particles when removed. After fully drained, replace plug, and add 2.7 quarts of Honda transmission fluid. Honda claims you must use Honda fluid in order to prevent damage, and for transmission to shift properly. Just a side note: This change only replaces about half the fluid. I do not know how to change entire system. If someone else knows please tell me. --Yes, from what i am told you do a flush type fill ....that is to say that after draining and refilling you run the vehicle and then repeat: drain and refill. You do this two to four times depending on the need and filth of the fluid.

Where is the thermostat located on a 1990 Honda Accord LX?

Follow the LOWER radiator hose to a housing behind the distributor and the motor. There is no need to remove the radiator hose or to even drain the radiator. Wait for the car to cool down completely. Place one or more large collection pans, preferably square, under the car to catch the coolant overflow. Using a 10mm combination wrench, remove two 10mm thermostat cover mounting bolts; and a third 10mm bolt, on the bottom of the cover, that holds a bracket onto the thermostat cover. Tug the thermostat cover away from the housing. As coolant overflows, double-check the placement of your collection pans. Note precise orientation of old thermostat Remove old thermostat with some pliers, put new gasket on new thermostat EXACTLY as old one is. Install new thermostat in EXACTLY the same orientation as the old one was (there are three slots that must line up with two of the gasket dimples, and the tiny bypass valve that is on the thermostat.) Replenish radiator with a 50/50 mixture of water/quality anti-freeze (will take about 1.5 liters). With a garden hose, dilute and flush away any spilled ant-freeze, to prevent your pets and other animals from drinking it and getting poisoned.

The camshaft on a 1991 Honda Accord LX can seize up due to several factors, including lack of proper lubrication, which can cause the bearings to wear down or overheat. Contaminated oil or debris in the oil passages can also restrict oil flow, leading to increased friction and eventual seizure. Additionally, improper installation or misalignment of the camshaft can contribute to binding or excessive wear. Regular maintenance and timely oil changes are essential to prevent such issues.
