What is the problem of a 88 Honda accord dx that will run great for 10 or so minutes then will putter and go dead then will crank again after cooling off for 3 or so hours?

It could be any of a number of problems. Overheated transistors fail, even transistors that are running in normal temperature range can have heat stress fractures that cause them to be intermittent. Fuel pumps can also fail when hot, and of course, don't forget about the possibility of having a partially blocked fuel filter.

First, check the fuel filter and see if you're still getting fuel when it won't start.

Next, try pulling the ECM and having it checked. Honda's are notorious for that problem.

If neither of those potential problems point to what's going on in YOUR car, start with the old diagnostic routine. It's either fuel delivery, ignition related or compression. If you have all 3, the engine will run.

Where is the main relay for the 1994 Honda Accord?

main relay is above the brake pedalit's above the brake pedal. it's an orange or grey box, it's attached to a metal bracket with other stuff also attached to it... it's quite a back breaker position to look at it...

Answer:

Main relay for what? There are relays at several locations under the dash, more in the fuse panel behind the left kick panel, and still more in the fuse panel under the hood near the battery.

What do you suggest you check on a 1988 Honda accord dx that blows cold air when the heater is on.?

If the engine is not getting to operating temperature replace your thermostat( located at the lower end of the top radiator hose in the water outlet on engine. If the engine IS reaching operating temp, take your hand and feel both heater hoses( they are 1/2"+ hoses that go thru firewall on pass side) both need to be hot; if only one is hot your heater core is plugged and you can flush it. I hope this helps you. Mark

What could be wrong if the headlights and high beams stopped working on a 1990 Honda Accord but the bulbs are fine and the parking lights and blinkers still work?

First double check the placement of the headlamp bulbs. Make sure that the bulbs are connected properly and that no wires have been detached. You might also want to check to fuse that leads to the headlights. If that fuse is blown, just replace it. Look in the engine bay, on the passenger side for the fuse panel. The inside cover should identify the fuse for the headlamps, etc. it could also be the high low beam switch . it is a combo switch with the turn signals. try to gently move the arm in a figure "8" and watch for the lights to blink off and on or between high and low beams. try this in the high and low beam position. if the do anything but stay on continually replace turn signal/beam switch. also consider the dash dimmer switch The headlight switch activates a relay in the fusebox. Look on the underside of the fusebox cover for a diagram showing where it is. First confirm the headlight fuse is OK. Then, have someone slowly turn the lights on and off while you gently press the relay with one finger. If you can't hear or feel the relay clicking on and off, you may have to replace it.

Where do you check the transmission fluid on your 1994 Mazda B 3000?

Is this a trick? I have a 1994 Mazda B3000 and there dip stick along the fire way, more to the left. Open the hood and find the stick that says "Transmission fluid". Remove the stick, after the engine is hot, and transmission in "Park" and wipe it clean. Read the directions on the stick. Yeah! Douglas Lamberson metropac@earthlink.net This is all very interesting unless it is a manual transmission, that check is a little more grounding.

How do you check the transmission fluid in a 1996 Ford F-150 SL?

The procedure varies with the vehicle. It is spelled out in the owners manual or sometimes on the dipstick. The normal procedure is to drive the vehicle until it is at normal operating temperature, 10 miles, will accomplish this. Park on a level surface. Start the engine and place in park. Remove the dipstick and wipe clean. Reinsert the dipstick and remove and check the level. Do not overfill as this can damage the transmission. The add mark is normally one pint. On some vehicles you check cold and with the vehicle not running. Read the owners manual.

What size is the factory speakers in a 1995 Honda Accord LX 4 door?

I have a 1995 Honda accord ex and i switched out the front door speakers and they were 6 1/2" speakers. I do believe the back are 6x9. But another way to find out is to go to best buy and they have a computer in the car audio section that can tell you the stock size for your car.

You don't need to cut the wires at all, I just got mine installed in 5 minutes with the adapter speaker plug, I got them from Amazon for 16 bucks but you save a lot of time and you don't mess the wire system of your car with the black tape and stuff.
