What can you do to a 1991 Honda accord EX to make it go faster and to give it more horsepower?

that depends..... how deep are your pockets? 150,000 will get you a 4 sec car. for most and to keep it a dependable daily driver. keep it simple if your lookin for power keep it that way ground affects.. lights.. stickers.. most huge silly spoilers . massive stereo are useless.. when seconds count... on a budget start with cold air intake.. plug and wire upgrade maybe ignition? look for chips or computer control units rember to change the thermostate when you chip it. stay away from NOS unless you want to burn up your rings and engine. yes in small amounts it can be tamed but it best not. next look into exaust cat back to start and chip the tranny as well max shift points. that's all the easy stuff.. you could now add larger fuel injectors and pump. mess with the heads.. or even add a turbo.. intercooler..? shocks and suspension seem to help depending on what is done mild lowering to improve center of gravity. wider tires stiffer shock and coils. all help weight transfer.

don't negect all the little stuff like maintnence.. like a good timing chain or belt... good tires ...balanced... we don't need a blow out at 100 now do we. cv joints both don't click around corners...

Drivers Door inside handle on 92 Honda Accord?

could be the door lock Actuator, it could be the motor to the actuator going bad. the medal rod could be detached from the actuator or the door handle itself. if its disconnected from the actuator. i dont know how to fix that yet. but if its detached from the door handle then unscrew the one screw connecting the handle to the door, slide entire handle forward to the front of the car and pull it towards you/ out. be careful because there will be wires/ a plug going into the lock switch. look inside the door and there should be a medal "L" ish shaped rod semi sticking out. the rod goes into the hole in the handle, and a plastic clip goes around the medal rod to hold into place. hope this helps. if not E-mail me and i will try to further assist you.

How do you Evacuate and recharge the air conditioning system Honda accord?

Using a set of a/c gauges put the blue hose on the low side (suction side) and the red hose on the high side (discharge side) and make sure that there is no freon in the system and if you have freon in the system then you will have to go to an automotive a/c shop and have them reclaim it for you..

Put the yellow hose on your vacuum pump and let it run for about 1 hour and then let it sit for 1 hour so that you can see if it will at least hold the vacuum pulled.

If so then let it run for an additional hour and then start the recharging process remembering to keep the low side readings between 30 to 40psi and the high side between 200 to 250psi depending on the outside temperature…………….

How do you fix the instrument panel lights on a 1999 Honda Accord?

You have to change the small wedged bulbs in the panel. This is no big deal if you have some time to spare and a screwdriver. First, you must unscrew the two screws on the underside of the plastic dashboard frame. Then, pull the frame toward you and up, it will come off easily. Now, remove two screws on the metal frame that hold the instrument panel, one on each side ot it. Pull the panel out and disconnect the two electrical connectors. They have tabs that can be squeezed in when they are removed. Now you have easy access to the bulbs on the panel, insterted from the rear. It is a good idea to replace all the bulbs in the panel, because even those still working may go out any time if they have been in place for years. Cost is no problem since they are cheap. Inserting the instrument panel and the metallic frame is the reverse process of installing. Be careful not to lose any screws or small parts. Also, in order to prevent accidental damage, don't use excessive force at any stage of this operation.

How do you clean or replace the EGR in Honda Accord 2000 V6 2 Dr?

This must be common as it happened to my 2000 accord at 94K. It is covered by warranty up to 80K I think, and the cost at the dealer is $385. ($98 parts and 3 hours labor) If anyone knows how hard this is I would like to know too. Thanks

Changing the EGR valve is only part of the solution. There is a special reamer that is required to properly fix the problem. Carbon buildup in the EGR passages is the real problem. You have to drill out the EGR passage and insert a stainless teel tube and then replace the EGR valve. The parts and special tool are available from any Honda dealer although the tool may be on back order.

Actually the government forced Honda to cover this under warranty up to 150K miles now. There is a Honda service bulletin that address this: 98-081 issued March 18,2003. I had this done by my local dealer...they also give you a free oil change and replace the distributor and spark plug wires. I've had 2 mid 90's accords and had this problem on both of them around 120K miles. Good luck!

AFAIK, the 98-081 only covered 95-97. From 98-02 only covered 'til 80K mi.
