How do you replace the front headlight on a 2001 Honda Civic LX?

Replacing the headlamps in a 2001-2005 Honda Civic. It is strongly suggested that you disconnect the negative terminal to avoid possible injury. Removing the battery from the mount may make the passenger lamp more accessible. Pulling the plastic reservoir (behind the driver side light) out of its mount will make removal of the driver side lamp very easy. On the reverse side of each headlight, there is a harness that attaches to the connecting pins for the headlamp. The connector for the harness is a cube of plastic that’s resting atop a rubber weather boot. This is very easy to pull straight off. The rubber weather boot that the harness rested upon also comes off; use gentle force to remove the boot by the two tabs on opposing sides of the boot. The inside ring of the boot surrounds the outermost portion of the back end of the lamp. After completely removing the weather boot, there is a wire clip that fastens the headlamp into the lighting assembly, the clip has to be pushed back and slightly off to the side, out from under two hooks that hold it in place. Once the clip is unfastened, the lamp can easily be removed. Be very careful not to touch the glass portion of the new headlamp(s), as the oil from your hand will cause the lamp to burst when the bulb gets hot. The two metal protrusions on the inside of the round bracket around the lamp should be oriented downward. Reseat the clip that fastens the bulb to the assembly. Reseat the weather boot. Reseat the wiring harness. Replace the battery and reservoir, and reconnect the negative battery terminal. -Mike Watson in Albany, GA

Have you tried unplugging the computer back-up fuse, replacing it, start it, let it idle for 10 minutes. This retrains the SI to air-fuel mix, which will calm your idle. After that, needing further idle adjustment, RTFM the Haynes manual.

Under the dashboard on the left hand side of the steering column, if you look under it, there are rows of fuses. If you still have the cover, it should show the mapping of the fuses and what component in the car connected to it. If you do not have the cover, look in the manual. Good luck.

Which fuse on a 2001 Honda Civic is for the cruise control?

Open the glove box, reach in and remove this little book called an Owner's Manual. Inside this little book is all kinds of answers to this and many other questions. You will find it invaluable for future reference. FWIW, the Owner's Manual on my 2002 Honda Civic fails to identify any particular fuse as part of the cruise control (speed control) system. One fuse in particular is identified inscrutably as 'Option', but it has no effect on the cruise control system. Further information than what is provided in the OM is required to solve this problem. This warning lamp comes on when there is something wrong that is related to the normal operations of a vehicle. You will need to have the code read that is causing the light to illuminate ... some car repair places have this special tool.

How do you set the timing on a 1994 Honda Civic?

It is correct that the computer controls most of the timing on a 94 civic, however it is very necessary to have the base timing set correctly. If the base timing is off, your car will not pass smog, as this is a requirement (found this out today... 2 failed smog checks).

To set the timing you must first find the jumper wires underneath the passenger side of the dash. Usually there is a blue connector. You hook these two wires together, using a paperclip or some conductive material to place the engine into base timing (it factors out the computer completely). From there you use a timing light like you would normally. sensor to #1 plug wire, power to battery. There are timing marks on the crankshaft pully. Point the light at the pulley and pull the trigger, then adjust the distributor to get the timing to specs (my car is 12 + or - 2 degrees btdc).

All you have to do is lift up the carpet on the passenger side of the car and below is an ecu. On the face plate of that ecu there is a led that blinks. Count the number of times that the LED blinks and look it up on the internet or a Haynes manual.

Why does my 98 camaro start then stall and stall at idle?

it could need new spark plugs orspark plug weir's

added by audiohelix:

many possible things could be wrong.

first and foremost see if it is throwing an SES code

if it is..the code will tell you exactly what is wrong...

try a few simple diagnostic things

disconnect the Mass Air Flow Meter(connected in the tube leading from airbox to throttlebody) it might take a time or two to start...but if it holds idle it might just be dirty or be bad all together.

you can try and see if its an issue with the Inatke Air temp sensor...do the same..disconnect and see if it suddenly runs better

chances are you could have fouled spark plugs or worn out spark plugs...or a wire that has gone bad..usually you will get a misfire code if this is the case

really the best thing is to have it checked by an OBDII code reader...which typically most auto parts dealerships will offer a free code reading.

get the code..look it up online
