How Do You Remove the door panel of a 1992 Honda Del Sol?

Not a complete answer: Go to your local library, and check the Haynes manual: Honda-Civic/CRX/Del Sol 1984-1985. Section 10, page 15 has Door Panel removal and installation instructions with pictures. While the 1992 is a JDM model, and not covered by Haynes (1993 onwards-US and Canada only), I am assuming that fittings, bolts and screws will not vary over the years from personal experience: if you open the door you can find a screw at the front window side (on the top)

the second screw is located behind a small cover behind the doorhandle (the doorhandle has 2 clips you also need to remove)

the third and also the last is behind a cover behind the grip. after you removed all the screws you can rip of the bottom (they are clips) and after you did that you can lift the entire panel upwards from the window. i did it last saterday because i had to fix a problem with my door handle.

Where is the oil filter located on a Honda Del Sol?

From the fornt of the car, the oil filter is located at the back of the engine about in the middle. You can reach it from underneath by lifting the car in the front, and supporting it with jack stands. Slide under to the rear of the engine. Look up and you will see it hanging down.

It is best to have an oil filter wrench. I taped mine so it wouldn't fall off when I turned it. Use the new filter as a guide.

Once you remove the old filter, be sure to wipe the filter area clean. Then, lubricate the new filter o'ring with new oil. Screw it back on, and hand-tighten only. Jack the car down, fill with new oil, start the car and check for leaks. That's it.

After running for a few minutes, turn off the engine, and wait a few minutes, and check the dip stick. If necessary, top off the oil. don't overfill though.

Then go enjoy your ride.

What happened to the Honda Del Sol?

Honda said no more. the del sol replaced the crx which was a great little car. the problem with a del sol from a performance stand point is it is overweight. that is besides the point though. Honda got rid of the del sol. they probably were not selling enough.

In the U.S., Honda sold 25,000 del Sol's in the first year (1993), but only 5,603 in the last year (1997). ( http://www.automotiveforums.com/t305664-faq___del_sol_general_info_and_questions.HTML )

How do you remove the stereo from a 1994 Honda Del Sol?

you need to remove the cover or whatever you call it to get to the radio. then you have to unscrew the radio and then you can just pull it out. it should take you no more than 10 minutes. remember though that the the piece is a big it goes from just after your shifter to just below the temperature gauges. I have a 1993 del sol. What you should do it remove all the screws from the center consol including the ones on the cupholder / arm rest. You want to remove the whole cupholder assembly first by lifting the edge closest to the rear window. Disconect the cigarette lighter cable and set the cupholder aside. Now you want to put the car in D1, if you have an automatic, to remove the upper assembly more easily. Unscrew the housing around the sterio and you're done. Remeber not to disconnect the factory sterio if you don't know the password.

Why is my brake petal soft after i changed the brake pads on my 94 Honda delsol s?

You most probably have air in your brake lines. You can bleed the air out with the help of an assistant. There should be a bleeder screw located somewhere on the brake back of the caliper. Loosen this srew as your assistant presses the brake pedal (make sure your assistant does not let up on the pedal). As soon as the fluid is clear of air bubbles, tighten the screw snugly (do not overtighten (could break). Repeat these steps for the opposite side. Hope this helps.

What are the main reasons for an oil leak on my Honda Del Sol?

The number one reason for a Honda oil leak is that the car is a Honda

This sounds facetious but it is true. The reason Hondas are cheap and reliable is because the engine is made with aluminum parts that fit together somewhat loosely while cold and slowly tighten when they heat up. All cars do this but the Honda keeps it looser so there is less stress on the engine after hundreds of thousands of mile.

There are some things you can do to mitigate most leaks, however.

Number one is to tighten all the bolts on the engine head and block.

If you want to get real frosty with it you can replace the gasket on the valve cover as this is the #1 spot that leaks.

Also be sure you aren't overfilling the oil, this will cause pressure which can damage gaskets and worsen any leaks.

How do you adjust headlights in a 1993 Honda Del Sol?

Pop the hood you'll see two adjustment screws on top of each head light. Do it at night on a level road surface and pull up to a wall so you can see where the headlights are pointed at.

Use the wall as a guide, you don't wan't the headlights to high or too low, on the wall. The del sol can get away with having headlights a little higher than stock since the car is much lower than most of the cars on the road. Just make sure you can see a good distance ahead. Have you change the bulbs to brighter ones? You might also wanna get a plastic lens cleaner/scrub which will buff out milky plastic headlights.

How do i pull the motor in a Honda delsol?

Pulling a del sol engine is not a difficult task as far as cars go. Since there is no crossmember in the way of the engine/transmission assy. it basically falls out the bottom. first , get yourself a big roll of masking tape and a permanent marker, labeling everything will save you alot of headache later. Before you start ripping off wires and lines, DISCONNECT THE NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL! shorting any wires could destroy the on board computer which can be pretty pricey. you will notice a substantial number of rubber vacuum lines running to various components under the hood, i.e. brake booster, fuel rail, intake manifold, etc. carefully remove these from the engine so as to not rip.tear any of them and label their locations ( my best method is to number where they go i.e. put a number 1 on the connector and a number one on the line that came off of it and so on). be aware of fuel lines and keep a drain pan and rags handy as there is a possibility that they might still be under pressure. safety glasses are your friend. next you will see two fat rubber hoses one on top the engine and one on the bottom, and two 1 inch or so lines running from the back of the engine to the firewall, these lines have engine coolant in them as does the engine, keep a drain pan handy and disconnect these from the motor. after the lines are removed there should be about 6 or so large wire connectors on the left and right sides of the engine compartment, disconnect these and label etc. finally remove the axles from the transmission, simply use a pry bar to gently pull the inner axle shafts out of the housing. place a few blocks of wood, jack stannds or whatever you have under the transmission/engine snugly. there are two motor mount bolts and two transmission mount bolts and viola the engine is free! jack the body of the car up over the engine and drag it out. remember safety first, wear gloves, safety glasses, careful with fuel and if your not sure, ask an experienced mechanic.
