You take out the battery and reinsert it.

It has a timing chain... therefore it won't need to be replaced... if I am correct?

I think you mean Unit-body or body on frame.

As the element is a Unit-Body car, and make no mistake it is a CAR, not a truck, it drives like a tall car.

The amount of miles that a Honda Element will last will vary from vehicle to vehicle. The wear and tear on the vehicle plays a role in the amount of miles the engine can take. Many vehicles last well over 200,000 miles.

It is located behind the glovecompartment you must also disconnect hi and low pressure lines from the fire wall And evap drain tube after recycling the freon with the appropriate vapor recovery machine then take out the glove compartment and the evap case is right there

The easy solution is to buy extra seat belt clips that fit your seat belt mechanism from a junkyard. Put these in whenever you don't want to use the seat belt.

In my 2003, the codes are in the glove compartment on a little sticker.

I use plain old soapy water to clean them...never get wax on them or its an ordeal to remove. To keep them looking shiny and new I use Mother's Protectant. You can also get Back-to-Black if there is oxidation.

I looked on the Elementownersclub.com and they suggested over and over, Aerospace 303. I bought it and it is amazing. Made it like new without the oily feel. Now I use it on everything plastic.

OEM spark plugs are usually the way to go. If you want something long-lasting I'd go with Bosch or good old NGK. Don't forget to check your plug wires also while you're at it.

You must press and hold the brake pedal to take the shifter out of park.

This is a maintenance minder not a real code. B12 would mean you need to doeverything under B/B1 and B2 below, or look in your owners manual, they are listed there. After inspecting and doing these you can reset the minder. Turn key to on position, toggle the reset stem to the oil life screen. Then hold it in for a minute or so. Should go to oil life 100% and the little wrench light will go out.

- Service Front and Rear Brakes

- Inspect parking brake adjustment

- Inspect tie rod ends, steering gear box and boots

- Inspect suspension components

- Inspect driveshaft boots

- Inspect brake hoses and lines (including ABS)

- Check all fluid levels, condition of fluid and check for leaks

- Inspect exhaust system

- Inspect fuel system and connections

1 - Rotate tires ** inspect for wear and adjust pressure

2 - Replace air cleaner element. Replace dust and pollen filter. Inspect and adjust drive belt.

3 - Replace transmission fluid ( use only Honda ATF or MTF)

4 - replace spark plugs. Inspect valve clearance.

4 ( accord v6, ridgeline) - replace spark plugs. Replace Timing belt, inspect water pump. inspect valve clearance, cold engine.

5 - replace engine coolant

6 - replace rear diff fluid.

I am not positive but I believe there is a recall on the door locks check with your dealer

a good high mileage 10w30 is a safe bet, depending on average climate where your located. oil viscosity, or thickness, should change with the seasons.

The thermostat on a 2005 Honda Element is located near the radiator where the hose meets the engine block. The cap and thermostat is all one piece.

When the green key flashes on your dash, it's because it has recognized the security chip inside your key. This will permit the car to start. Elements come with anti-theft devices which prevent the car from being started without the properly encoded key.

You can't reset that light...there is no such thing as a 2002 Honda Element...they didn't come out until 2003.

Depends on the nature of the problem. If the grid lines are broken you can get a repair kit that you basically paint on after you mask it off with tape.

One way to reset a 2005 Honda Element check engine light is to disconnect the battery. The battery will need to be disconnected for about 5 minutes for the light to reset.

I found the following answer here (http://www.hondaunited.com/stereo-code-for-2003-Honda-element-t265.htm) after I had my battery replaced and couldn't use my radio. I followed the steps, and I have music again!

1. First, you need make sure your stereo is off, then hold down the 1st & 6th preset buttons for the radio while turning the stereo back on.

2. A batch of 8 numbers (your stereo's serial code) will appear for about 20 seconds. Write them down.

3. Contact your local Honda dealer and let them know you need the 5-digit code to unlock your stereo and then give them the 8-digit serial code you got from the 2nd step. They will give you the 5-digit code that you can then enter into the stereo by again turning on the stereo and pushing the according preset buttons.

4. The stereo will give you 10 tries before it locks you out as a safety feature and then you will have to wait an hour or disconnect the battery and try again. Hopefully you can enter the code in fewer than 10 tries anyway.

5. Enjoy your stereo!

Turn on the head lights and probe the wires one by one till you find one that lights up. STAY AWAY FROM THE YELLOW WIRE BUNDLE THIS IS THE AIR BAG YOU WILL DIE. With the light probe lit turn off the headlights and if the probe goes out you have found the running light wire , try again till the wire goes out as the headlights do.
